Here are some pix of the RB34 stroker:

The crank still needs the main journals ground, then final balance, shotpeen, nitride, and give it a good polish and clean.

Any comments or questions appreciated.

The crank is a customised standard item, the rods are custom h beams but the pistons are off the shelf .040" OS (87mm) with a 22mm pin.

I will post up some more pix of the crank when its done.

Ive taken all the casting dags off the webs of the crank, but now rust has formed on it from sitting around too long. :(

I might bore out an rb30 block soon, see what size bore i can sleeve it to aswell.

RB36 maybe???

ill probably get shot down for this but,

If your off your p's why bother?

Drop in a v8 if you dont like turbo 25's or 26's? Seems like a complete waste of money. Throw in a lexus v8 or something and they are about $1000!

Sorry I don't understand, if there is something im missing please feel free to tell me

even if the v8 is only $1000 you would still have all the other engineering costs of custom engine mounts, different gearbox or adaptor plate, wiring would be a pain. so the cost could end up being similar to building the rb34de

then in the end you dont end up with a skyline cus its not all nissan.

NA_r33 is different cus he used a nissan V8 :D

of all the N/A skyline motors rb30de has to be the best of the easyily built N/A. rb34de can only be better  plus the sound of the rb34.. mmmmmmmm

once he gets it all done. im sure if you went for a ride in it you would understand why he did it.

thats what i have done with all the people who said why you spending all that $$ just to run it as N/A. now they like it ;)

The reason i have developed an RB34:

Im an engine reconditioner so all the machining etc i do,

is to my standard and it doesnt cost me anything.

I am building 2 of these RB34's the other one will be a large single turbo (GT3540) and more than likely have full boost by 3000 RPM.

But if you dont understand ross80 then....

You obviously have some interest in a NA 6?

The strokers will be reliable - they are being built with new forged components with extra attention on radii with 20% more bearing area and other critical operations.

If you build/tune your turbo engine right u shouldnt destroy them....Obviously.

You keep blowing standard engines i assume?

ive been scared by some rb30e na before

the guy i bought my wheels off had full 2.5 exhaust, no cat and extractors, cam, xf tb proted plenum 3" intake, unifilter and no ac

i got a stocker rb30 with a bolt on turbo kit and i allmost lost to that :0 i was loaded up with people and wheels tho

I win out of the L series motors L24e injected upgrade fuel pump and injectors l26 nismo cams grinded for more Duration modified microtech d5 and double valve springs just need my flat top pistons hardened valves and extractors and i am finished conservative estimate 125kw current once finished probaly close to 150-160kw :O

I think theres another NA engine from Nissan that gets completely over-looked,

the VG30DE. I know it's a vee, but my NA sounds real sweet. :domokun:

With little mods you can get over 200kw @ flywheel.

Over engineered and tough as, with serious mods and Nos, who knows?

Stock internals on a TT can handle nearly 400+ kw.

All you need is big enough bay. >_<

ps; that yellow NA zed in those HPI dvds runs 10 sec 1/4.

Using NOS like that Z has sortof makes it not an NA accomplishment, unfortunately. Also, the thread is specifically about straight 6s - not saying they are better.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
