Kor'axis
pictures say a thousand word but take up 1000x the memory... I have a 115kW @ wheels rb25de. Got it dynoed at the last SAU dyno day! CRSRB25DE
Here are some pix of the RB34 stroker: The crank still needs the main journals ground, then final balance, shotpeen, nitride, and give it a good polish and clean. Any comments or questions appreciated. BADR33
looking good man. so how much of that is custom? what size bore you using? what dus that kinda set up cost? my rb30 put out 124rwkw and 264Nm of torque(ajusted). so thats alright Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/106872-who-has-the-most-hardcore-na-straight-6-skyline-on-here/page/2/#findComment-2037148 Share on other sites
CRSRB25DE
The crank is a customised standard item, the rods are custom h beams but the pistons are off the shelf .040" OS (87mm) with a 22mm pin. I will post up some more pix of the crank when its done. Ive taken all the casting dags off the webs of the crank, but now rust has formed on it from sitting around too long. I might bore out an rb30 block soon, see what size bore i can sleeve it to aswell. RB36 maybe??? ross80
ill probably get shot down for this but, If your off your p's why bother? Drop in a v8 if you dont like turbo 25's or 26's? Seems like a complete waste of money. Throw in a lexus v8 or something and they are about $1000! Sorry I don't understand, if there is something im missing please feel free to tell me Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/106872-who-has-the-most-hardcore-na-straight-6-skyline-on-here/page/2/#findComment-2037783 Share on other sites
BADR33
even if the v8 is only $1000 you would still have all the other engineering costs of custom engine mounts, different gearbox or adaptor plate, wiring would be a pain. so the cost could end up being similar to building the rb34de then in the end you dont end up with a skyline cus its not all nissan. NA_r33 is different cus he used a nissan V8 of all the N/A skyline motors rb30de has to be the best of the easyily built N/A. rb34de can only be better plus the sound of the rb34.. mmmmmmmm once he gets it all done. im sure if you went for a ride in it you would understand why he did it. thats what i have done with all the people who said why you spending all that $$ just to run it as N/A. now they like it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/106872-who-has-the-most-hardcore-na-straight-6-skyline-on-here/page/2/#findComment-2038014 Share on other sites
CRSRB25DE
The reason i have developed an RB34: Im an engine reconditioner so all the machining etc i do, is to my standard and it doesnt cost me anything. I am building 2 of these RB34's the other one will be a large single turbo (GT3540) and more than likely have full boost by 3000 RPM. But if you dont understand ross80 then.... You obviously have some interest in a NA 6? ross80
Im guessing that they might be more reliable then a turbo motor? Im continuously destroying them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/106872-who-has-the-most-hardcore-na-straight-6-skyline-on-here/page/2/#findComment-2039880 Share on other sites
CRSRB25DE
The strokers will be reliable - they are being built with new forged components with extra attention on radii with 20% more bearing area and other critical operations. If you build/tune your turbo engine right u shouldnt destroy them....Obviously. You keep blowing standard engines i assume? predator
CRSRB25DE.. 3.4L and turbo? sounds like it could be a monster if it holds together. Longest capacity out of an RB30 block was 3.3L that I heard about.. but maybe that was you Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/106872-who-has-the-most-hardcore-na-straight-6-skyline-on-here/page/2/#findComment-2063604 Share on other sites
PORTS
I think theres another NA engine from Nissan that gets completely over-looked, the VG30DE. I know it's a vee, but my NA sounds real sweet. With little mods you can get over 200kw @ flywheel. Over engineered and tough as, with serious mods and Nos, who knows? Stock internals on a TT can handle nearly 400+ kw. All you need is big enough bay. ps; that yellow NA zed in those HPI dvds runs 10 sec 1/4.
