Hi everyone, i need help.

My 1994 gr2 gtr was stollen tonight.

when i first bought this car 3 months ago all my childhood dreams came true!

then tonight when i came home, the GTR and my dreams were stollen.

I live in melbourne, preston.

It was a white gtr with a very large karbon fibre wing in the rear with 19inch wheels with 295 in the back and 255 in the front.

the rims were a deep dish type and were dark grey in colour.

it had some mild modifications. alarm was a automate (viper) state of the art alarm (cost 1 grand!).

and lastly it wasnt insured!!!!!

was reading some more stollen post tonight and i realised that my baby might be stripped for parts!!!!!!!

any help would greatly be appreciated and rewarded.

damn that sucks dude. So you had a $1G alarm and it still got stolen? Do you have spare keys in your house (maybe they broke in to the house and used the spares to get to the car) otherwise looks like you've been targeted by some pros, in which case theres not alot of chace they just stole it to go for a joyride :)

Go ask your neighbours if they heard/saw anything. If you're lucky to live near any businesses ask if they have CCTV footage that might show them driving off in your car.

Hope yours is a happy ending mate ;)

I can't find any info on Automate alarms? Do you have a link or anything?

I saw all these cool "remote start" and LED-keyring alarm systems around, but went with a mainstream brand because I didn't trust the security of the others. (you can buy spare remotes that are programmable by "the customer".)

If it is a decent 3-point immobiliser, with an alarm on door entry, and has a backup battery in the siren, then they could have only really taken your car via a flat-bed truck or tow-truck!

Thanks for your support everyone.

There was only one set of keys which were hidden inside the house.

The alarm is made by "directed" the web site is www.directed.com they make viper hornet and about 8 other brands including automate.

The web site is www.automatecarsecurity.com . The strange thing was the unlock symbol on the remote (which also beeps an vibrates) was open and showed a tamper on the screen as well!

it was a remote engine start together with an engine immoboliser and they suposidly offer 2500 US cashback if its stolen in the first year. So i thought it was the best alarm.

So i guess somebody knew how to disarm this alarm.

What a waste of money. i think i would be better of with a clublock and pull a wire or fuse out!

The Rego is SGC309.

It is a 1994 r32 GTR white with a large carbon fibre rear wing.

The neighbours said they heard nothing and my street is full of new townhouses.

I thought these alarms were the best!

Thanks again everyone.

Hey buddy,

sorry to hear about your car getting stolen - whats the number plates? I live in the east/south eastern region - i will keep an eye out for it. Did you contact the police?

Yeah dude... I'm in that area a bit for work - plus majority of melbourne... I'll certainly keep an eye out dude... Tough Luck!

Hey mate sorry to hear, I'll keep a look out I'm in the area often.

Yeah you should have a good alarm, but other things help as well.

I've probably mentioned this 10 times now, but a detachable quick release steering wheel is the go.

Cars are VERY hard to steal without a steering wheel!!

A mate of mine has a Viper alarm which calls u when triggered, the quick release steering wheel, he also unplugs the airflow metre. It seems a bit overboard, but worth it if your car is gonna be out of sight for a long time.

Anyways mate I'll let you know if i see the car, or if someone starts selling cheap parts.

Ali.

PS: Just thought i'd add that my 180sx was stolen earlier this year from a Panel Shop and recovered 5 days later, with minor damage and a few accessories missing. So there's always hope!! I know how depressing it is.

ALSO you might wanna put this in the VIC section as well....you'll get a better response there.

thanks for your response everyone.

the car was parked in the street and it has been there for 2 months all my neighbours know my car and they didnt see anything.

This car meant alot to me, my wife bought it for me for chistmas, that just past.

Ill be offering $5,000 cash for anyone who can bring it back.

No questions asked!

sorry to hear about ya car being stolen

im in QLD, and we have cars getting stolen left right and centre at the moment, from what i am hearing.

Also a bit sus of having a quality alarm, no one hearing a thing or seeing. Whateva happened they knew what they were doing.

But sometimes it might not matter if you have a alram, if the guys want your car, they will get it somehow, or put it on the back of a truck.

I have an alarm just for the fact of the insurance.

I hope you find your car, and bonus the ppl that took it.

I'll keep an eye out up here, just incase they were doing a roadtrip

or any cheap gtr parts.

And one thing if i found your car, i wouldnt take your money

i think you have lost enough.

No offence, but that is far from the truth. It doesnt really matter what brand it is as long as it works, its more in the install. so if you go out and by a $600 alarm and get it installed for 150 bucks well then all your money is down the drain doesnt matter how good your alarm is.

I have a big $$ 3 point etc etc alarm in my car (came with it) and even with my limited knowledge i could disarm it in no time.

Thanks mate!

alarms ar ethe biggest waste of time and money as most professional theives can disarm even the most complex alarms in seconds. I unplug my ecu and take it with me, people look at me and say what the f**ks wrong with u but i dont care as long as wen i come bak my cars there they can laugh all they want.

But amm post pics up asap!

If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
