Hi mate.

I did the V8 drive in Feb and it was great. I also recommend doing 8 instead of 5 coz after 3 or so laps you get the hang of it and then it's really really fun.

They are awesome to drive. Not really that quick but man... slicks, suspension and good brakes! They stop and handle so damn well.

Enjoy it!

one of my mates bought an FPV GTP and also got a free ford track day at Calder Park so he brought his FPV there and let one of the V8 supercar drivers test his car while my mate was in passenger seat and he says it was such a thrill. So ye u r gonna enjoy that

I got to drive a BA GT falcon b4 they were released. Thanks to Ford Aust for the loan!

After 20mins of driving my right leg ached for 1hr just from the accelerator workout!

Plenty of power across the board and loads of fun to drive, but heaps of grip.

Who runs the day? Its ounds awesome...though i have nto seen one where you get to drive a V8 Supercar...its a tweaked and prepped V8 road car which is still an awesome experience.

I was lookign at doing the converted Auscar thing...be even better if i had a girlfriend bank rolling it http://www.fastrackracing.com.au/main.html

Lucky devil!

she has read these forums before... so i think photos are a no no! :D but i do think i will do the 8 laps. the more the merrier. I just checked the site adn yeah they seem to be slightly modded V8s rather than full blown V8 supercars. Will be fun tho. and i'll try to get pics on the day posted up.

My customer Monaro Performance builds these cars for the calder days. They are not a V8 supercar, rather a SS commodore with exhaust, cage, race seats, harnesses, Motec logger, all the vinyls etc etc etc.

Good ride nevertheless.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
