boys me and the GTR are out :P car is not ready due to some equipment failure :)

my other two mates are still coming though, and i 'may' come out anyway in the GTST.

i could use the GTST, but to be honest i'm just pissed and not really in the mood to flog it's little guts out. things may change between now and then though... lol

Hey Paul,

Jus to note, i haven paid yet. Trying to get to aaron. Left a msg but he hasn't got back to mi. Should be paying on the day itself.

Anyways,

This is my first trackie so it would be good if the seasoned trackies can provide some advise to us new trackies. things like any preps to the car? etc.

Cheers and many tks

Jay

J@y this is what I did and was recommended to do:

- Check tyre pressures.

- Check/change brake pads

- Change brake fluid

- Change oil + filter

- Check all fluid levels, and bring spare engine oil and coolant also.

- Get rid of all the crap that moves around inside the car - empty the boot, lose the spare.

- Buy a helmet.

- Dont have the fuel tank 100% full as they leak fuel a lot of the time. Buy a $20 jerry can and fill it up with petrol, then fill the car up 1/2 or 3/4 and keep the jerry can with your stuff in the pits.

- Take a foot air pump (for tyres).

- Make sure car is balanced/aligned well

- Fire extinguisher

That sounds like something i would say "take the "crap" out"

can i just say that i am gutted. this will be an awesome day, on a track that is soon to dissapear for ever.

I feel so sorry that you wont be there, but at least pop that head of yours in and say hello?

I remember reading somewhere he is having 2 more this year at OP GP, maybe when you speak to him ask him about that - i may be wrong, but its worth a shot

pussy

just bring the gts

i have some struts for you special price giggy gig

Thats what i suggested

only thing i'd change on that list is forget the foot pump. wakefield have a compressor (that 'mostly' works). bring a decent tyre pressure gauge instead. like this one:

not this type (they are a bitch):

if you like driving hard it's a good investment. but if you dont want to fork out i'm sure you can borrow one from somone on the day.

Been in a new job for only a matter of weeks.........

With the GM yesterday..

He says..

How is your calendar looking for Friday, we need to spend half an hour, I need your thoughts on.....

Me says..

Oh! - while we are looking at calendars, I have put in some extra hours since I have been here - can I have Monday off?

He says..

We don't do a flexi time thing here - whats on?

Me..

I have an opportunity to spend the day lapping Oran Park..

He says..

Take the time, the company is flexible and it sounds like an opportunity not to be missed.

Me..

Thanks - now on Friday can we make a decision on........etc.

(bet he wanted to know if passengers are allowed)

I just love the corporate world......

I love the company....

I love the job...

I love my boss..

Just in case he is a forum member...

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
