what grinds my gears? when a customer rings up to make an appointment and does this when i answer the phone

customer: hi i'd like to make an appt

me: sure, what time would you like to come in?

customer: um... i'm not sure.......let me just grab my diary...... :)

once a customer did that, and then put me on hold....so I hung up

^^ or how about when they ring up for pricing on several parts or something, you give them all the prices, info etc which takes 10 minutes....then they say "can you give me those prices again so i can write them down...oh wait, i just need to find a pen".

You knew you were going to get infomation, if you want to write it down, by all means go for it, but be friggin ready!!!!!

Dont make me do it twice.....prices may change the second time around LOL

getting an exhaust shop to make you a stainless intake pipe with nipples, silicon joiners and clamps out of your stock one and been quoted $150 then getting rung up to say they have finished it and is ready for pick up but is going to cost $300 :w00t: tell them that you were quoted 150 and they say that was for a mild steel without clamps nipples etc etc,

you tell them you dont want it and you will be there to pick you the stock one you gave them and they tell you that you cant have it without paying the outstanding 300

mofos

f**kin BP servos, i swear they set there prices sky high just because they are a big company, take today for example, went to fill up the line only to find out that its 154.9c a litre 154.9 ffs, and down the road i was 130 something

WGMG is when i listen to some young hoon putz!

"Put your big exhaust with the cannon on your car"...and after forcing me ( ok i buckled to peer pressure) i cant even get in my driveway!!!

Sam, ill never listen to you again! :D

wgmg is washing my car late one afternoon & having it all looking sweet. But then waking up the next morning & having it completely covered with dust :(

All thanks to the new residential area being built behind my house that looks more like a mine site

    • Based off what you’ve said here, I think I’ve figured out a good bit of what I’ve done wrong -  So on the line going from the PCV valve to carbon canister, there’s a T joint that is pretty much right next to that lower port - I hadn’t noticed that the hose in the diagram was curved to attach onto the carb, so I was putting that line for the lower port onto the PCV line / carbon canister line instead. I’m going to have a flick through the manual again tomorrow and should hopefully find a diagram that’ll show me where that T joint should be connected to. Timing also 100% needs to be sorted out as well, should be able to tackle that tomorrow as well. Definitely feel like I should be on the right track now though.
    • The screw is for idle (pilot circuit) mixture adjustment. Else, I'm confused ~ the diagram shows 2 carby ports, and the intake manifold port, but you're suggesting the "2nd port on the back of the carb that isn’t mentioned in the diagrams" ...yet, both carby ports are shown...que?... ...in any event, that port should be connected, but if not (like it is now), it's unlikely to cause a backfire out the carby (it would introduce false air and give you a fast/lean idle) ...sounds more like timing issues/spark plug wire routing responsible for the backfiring.
    • That's fair, I can see both points. I get enthusiastic when I see the FS section has a new post and want to see what interesting thing someone is selling. Then I get deflated it's a bump of a 10 year old post. Ha ha
    • Couple of litres of moonshine from his southern cousins would do it...
    • Brakes definitely won't make him faster. They only slow you down. 😛
