X-force Exhaust System

Recommended Posts

i just find the 3.5" droney when you back off and are slowing down, it reverberates a lot of noise. other than that i like it. whenever the cops are doing a blitz on hoons i just stick the silencer in.

Hmm, I checked with x-force themselves, and another exhaust workshop. The RRP for the system is at $1600. The workshop qouted me a price of $1,500 (including fitting). I checked some of the online stores, but none of them have the turbo back system - they all have cat-back and then I will have to spend extra on the other items like the dump pipe etc. All in all, it comes to over $1200.

Anywhere else I can check around melbourne?

just jap ...it'll be around $7-$800 for a 3" mild steel turbo back

$500 for just the cat back and canon....so they must only charge $2-300 for the front, and cat...

Hmm that looks pretty sweet mate, I''l be in for one in a few weeks. Is it worth spending the extra $250 and going stainless steel tho? What are the advantages?

Soz for the stupid noobie questions. But I'm more in the know when it comes to electronics. All this stuff is greek to me.

My personal experiance with Xforce is nothing but drone.

Ive heard some that were not really TOO droney, but still pretty bad.

I am currently really happy with my Fujitsubo Legalis R and if i had a manual car, Id definatly go for the SUPER R

I think Just jap looks liek it is the go - after steve pm's me back, I will make my decision.

But hearing the sound from the mechanics silvia - i thought "bloody hell, that sounds awesome!!" Nice grunt to it when its on idle - like the car sounds like it means business...

I got my 3.5" x-force exhaust for $900 fitted.

I sounds good, it's not too loud, and it is not droney at all.

I haven't put the car on the dyno yet! but I did feel a difference from stock!

i noticed more top end when i put mine on. didn't run out of puff as much at high rpm. all depends on how much boost you are running. with the stock exhaust it was really hard to get the car to hit the rev limiter as it would choke. now will full exhaust it does it easily (not that i try to), if i happen to give it a fang to try to beat traffic it is there in no time.

So you guys all are running x-force? I have been looking at other brands too like the fujitsubo front pipe and catback + matching hks dumppipe - but i have gotten a qoute of $2100 (im assuming the big brands are all around the high $1k or low $2k range). Is there any combinations that anyone could recommend perhaps? Like I keep hearing great stuff about BTMBL's stock, but I would need to get the other parts to complete the turbo back system. I know some brands can be mixed and matched (eg, fujitsubo + hks)- does anyone have a mix'n'matched system?

ebay dump, 3" front was already on the car, but think its pacemaker, x-force cat, x-force 3.5" cat back. if your are worried about the note then the x-force can be ordered with a different muffler, like an oval instead of the cannon.

ok, so some the x-force is droney, others disagree... but everyone seems to agree that the Jap exhausts sound the shiz..

So what, in the design on the JDM exhausts, makes them sound good?

Interesting topic, been following it from the start as i too am after an exhaust. Looking at gettin a BATML split dump, CATCO metal cat n cat back(not sure which one yet). I'd like a muffler with twin tip(preferably one that kinks up at the tip) or even a twin pipe system but dunno if that'll fit into the 3" cat flange and finding a twin tip muffler or twin pipe is next to impossible. Anyone know where to get one of these?

Also does anyone know of any sites where u can hear exhaust notes with different exhaust systems?

xforce has a twin tip system that kinks up...the part code is P-EX10, or another 1 from them is the PT01. they also have about 5 or 6 other twin tip mufflers, but without the kinked up tips

Cheap local exhaust shop 3" exhausst dont sound that bad either, just gotta get a good muffler. I had a mandrel bent 3" cat with a 3" pipe through it and a really big bodied junbl muffler. Not the best system in the world but it performed and sounded really nice, a little bit droney around 2k but another resonator would have fixed that up.

I think the biggest factor to sound is how many bends, what muffler and what resonator if it has one. I've heard stainless sounds different to mild steel as well.

Also does anyone know of any sites where u can hear exhaust notes with different exhaust systems?

I never had much success, I recommend going on a skyline cruise and get ahead and watch everyone drive by. Then ask the owner what system they have :nyaanyaa:

Hmmm... checked out their site, doesnt seem to be there. Know of anywhere else i can see one of these twin tip mufflers? Anyone know wot the notes like on this muffler? Does x-force system also need a resonator/mid muffler?

Looking at puttin this on a R34 GT-T with Batml split dump n CATCO 3" metal cat.

JustJap/Steve,

Can I get an idea of how many dB the full turbo back xforce exhaust is? Have you guys done any tests on ones you've installed??

Anyone actually - wondering whether it'd still be "legal" - 90dB (i believe) in NSW..

    • Go to SP mufflers and get the muffler of size you want and make a nice mid muffler. It's about that simple! I have 2x 3.5 Magnaflow straight through Mufflers and while it's pretty loud with the Varex open, it's quiet enough with the Varex closed. You can also buy off the shelf Magnaflow straight through mufflers as well. You also have a turbo to quiet the car down too. Don't overthink it. Buy my extra Magnaflow muffler sitting on a shelf doing nothing (buy it new, ignore this part)
    • Centre-offset muffler under the floor, same as stock. Just....3.5". The change from straight pipe there to centre-offset will mean that you need to remake some of the pipe (add a bend or two).
    • Hey guys. So my R34 GTT has a custom 3.5” exhaust (done by previous owner) with a high flowing cat, and then just a Varex cannon muffler on the back. The car does drone alot and is really loud even on highway driving just cruising, as you can imagine due to the Varex muffler basically being a straight through with the valve open. As much as i love a loud RB, it can be a bit much with no other muffling in line and just driving casually. I wanted to lower the volume output on the exhaust a bit, as well as remove the drone (probably a way to do both at once), and was going to do it all myself as I am a fabricator and have done exhaust work in the past, so the fab work isnt my issue, im just not sure on the right product or type of product to use to get the job done, and i doubt an exhaust shop would be wanting to help me as they wont be making any money from helping me, unless they supplied the product? Anyway any help or guidance in best way to approach this would be awesome   Thanks in advance
    • Meh, whilst the Honda is a "really" good car and has potential if you want to drop coin on, it was uninspiring for me to look at, but, it did serve its purpose and is now in the boys hands, his happy, his girl is happy, as she wasn't to keen on the noisy old Patrol, and most importantly, the Minister for War and Finances is extremely happy that her "little baby boy" (6'2 nugget who is currently training to be a copper, which will make 3 coppers in the immediate "circle of trust") has a well sorted reliable car that doesn't guzzle diesel Me, I'm more than happy with the NC MX5 that I replaced it with, it's a fun little car that I like looking at, like driving, and yes..... I do like the fact that the maintenance and modifications that I have done/will do are plentiful and relatively cheap, well........ while staying naturally aspirated slow that is, and that's all I really need for a fun little daily, I can rev the 5hit out of it rowing through the gears and never really break the speed limit  In saying that wicked word, "modifications", I've already ordered something for some noise and an additional "3 ish" horse powers, or whatever it gives, in the form of a header, and, a new set of "cheapo" BC coilovers that are already sitting in the shed waiting to get put in, I had the same BC's in my old NB and found they were fine for the street, hwy, and the occasional track days I did in it, they have 6kg front and 4kg rear springs which is about 10% stiffer than the stock springs which I found worked well for their price  I've also already been in touch with MX5 Mania in Dural, so once the header is on it will get a ECUTek RaceROM tune there (I cannot rev match for 5hit, and I loved the RaceROM rev match and FFS in my old 86 "RIP") In other, maintenance news, I put some new sparkler plugs in it, and have a new set of DBA Street series pads to put in over the next day or so, I'm running the DBA street series in the SS and Honda and really like them, they work great and are not dusty at all I've also booked in a few days leave over this weekend to give me 4 days weekend do some paint correction and give the leather seats some conditioning and interior some Bissell and steam cleaning OCD lovin', the carpet and interior looks clean, but from my experience with the Bissell IRT carpet, and the steam cleaner IRT trim, looks can be deceiving I've also found that finding a detachable hard top is proving problematic, the main reason why I didn't like the NC initially was the power retractable hard top that I seen them with gave the roof line a weird look, the detachable roof though looks good, and is a same shape as a NA/NB hard top, similar, but unfortunately not the same as it has different fixture point on the front, so fitting a easy to get NA/NB detachable hard top is no bueno New Old cars are fun, cleaning, hunting and playing around brings much joy How are your beasties going? Do you still have the Skyline with the LS???, or Barra??? that you were playing with
