hope it wasn't a skyline or import looks like he/she ain't gunna have a license for a while. oops here is the goss

THERE were more than a few grand prix wannabes left shame-faced after a police speeding blitz netted several lead foots at the weekend.

Among the worst offenders was a P-plater in Sunshine clocked at 128km/h in a 60km/h zone on Saturday night.

He then turned his V8 VS Commodore on to the Western Ring Rd, where he allegedly wound it out to 210km/h before the constabulary caught up with him to remind him he was not on the Albert Park circuit.

His licence was suspended on the spot.

Just minutes earlier police had pulled over another Sunshine driver clocked doing 120km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police spokesman Sen-Constable Craig Sharkey said the culprit claimed he had suffered a flat tyre and was making up for lost time.

Earlier in the week another speed demon was nabbed doing 180km/h on the highway at Wangaratta, explaining to police he was a motor sport fan on his way to the Melbourne Grand Prix.

He then turned his V8 VS Commodore

So they're giving free publicity to Holden there. Bullshit publicity and preaching to the masses through the newspapers!

hmmm, well they got caught - but how many p platers really doing 150km+ ever get caught? seems rather silly actually. Or what about cops speeding off duty in their bloody commondoor V8's and just flash their badge and get off doing exactly the same thing?

remember i got 'supposedly' done for 100 in a 60... at 3.30am...

stoppid cops... i'll get out of it!

But 210 ? And they CAUGHT upto him ?

How fast (and in what car) were the coppers driving??

Obviously not a camry LOL

Well cops are allowed to speed to catch people as long as its safe.. however it really makes you wonder whether their training is going to 'cause a bad accident in pursuit. Imagine the outcry then.

hey..camry's will do 180. How do i know that - i just do :P

If they go through a speed camera they have to pay the fine and suffer demerit points and loss of licence unless they can prove they were on a call/job... even when on duty!

well i saw 2 examples of cops speeding without lights or sirens down south road, 60km/hr zone, at least 100. 1 was a wagon, the other was just a crappy commodore. Bout 3 hrs apart, so weren't straight after each other. Really made me angry. :)

mmm... i followed a cop on motorbike down the city Link form Tulla on thurs last week.

he was doing over 110 the whole way... so i thought i can if he can... i did 110 and he still was getting away.

no sirens... just crusing along.

That's what i hate the most.

How can the expect to pull people over/have them obey laws... when those who are enforcing them don't even do it themselves.

Disgraceful

lol that vs ss commo was my mates brother

yep his got a court case on his hands soon

hahah

the dick head was goin down fitsgerald rd hammering then onto the ring road.....

aparently he was trying to catch up to his mate in a VL turbo that was somewhere down the princess freeway... the stupid shouldnt of stopped if that was me. iw oudl have been siting on 220 all the way to my drive way and in my garage ...

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
