As the topic states, Auto Salon is back in Adelaide on the 12-13th August.

There are several cars in the group that are worthy of entering (not that I expect we will win King of Autosallon) and I wanted to know if its worth setting up an SAU site. Entry is $100, (less than a tank of petrol), and we need a minimum of 6 cars for a club display.

If your car is up to the job and you can spare the time to clean and polish then set up on Friday afternoon (3pm -10pm), add your name and details here. We tried this once before with mixed results, so this time I am suggesting people will nedd to be sure by the end of June and cars will be entered on the 1st of July (payment required)

Might be worth pitching in for a banner too.

And guess what? Darren works in Printing: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=120286

Oh and i think I'll keep my dunga OUT of this. Might be able to come by and help setup though.

i'm keen, do you know the cost of entering plus dyno runs?

The only problem i can forsee for myself is that i work arvo's so setting up on friday could be difficult for me but i'll try and work something out!

If the car is ready in time then I am in - put me down as a 'yes' and I'll update prior to July 1st

My plan is to take the Friday off to prepare and set-up my car and then I'll help others as required.

No offence intended Mr. iNFMS, but it's SAU or nothing for me.

the r31 club had a smallish display last year

banner - best bet is to speak to Ted Turner Signs at Edwardstown as they did ours for around the $160 mark i reckon - and thats a 2000x1000 vinyl banner

dyno run is included in teh entry cost, dB drag racing is extra and ya gotta enter somewhere else

Well a few Skylines from my mechanic's w/shop are comming up to enter this year, as they just missed the Melbourne A.S. Would you allow us to join your stand? If i come i think there will be at least 4 Skylines.

Not sure if they want to enter on their own though, so i will keep you posted : .

i could b up 4 it, but ill know closer to the date cos might have somthing on....my car would need a bit of work done 2 it, the front kit is all hacked up at the bottom and i gota fix my lights cos they moved and clean my engine bay....actually clean the whole car...haha

I should be able to put my new car in:) as for dyno comp yeah may put mine in.

did u bought the 32 GTR from Kasai??

the car in yr avatar looks like it

looks like we got the number

now Matt/guy can collect $100 from each of us to ensure the club display will FINALLY happen this year :PBJ:

This is looking good so far this year.

I dont have a problem with other skylines fron Melbourne joining with us and it may even help if the Vic chapter of SAU (are u guys a propper club?) have an SAU banner we could borrow for the weekend.

The other aspect of a display is what sort of display will we set up? The entry form says a minimum is some sort of ground cover.

Any Ideas for a theme?

SAU VIC is the biggest chapter of SAU

Just spoke to the guys and they are entering as their own club "DRAGON". Not sure if i am going yet, but if i do i will prefer to enter with SAU :), i will keep you posted..

Jameszilla (James) is the person to PM for the SAU VIC banner. We also have merchandise :), nothing better than representing your club by wearing club polos/t-shirts :).

    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
    • See if you can thermal epoxy a heatsink or two onto it?
    • The other problem was one of those "oh shit we are going to die moments". Basically the high spec Q50s have a full electric steering rack, and the povo ones had a regular hydraulic rack with an electric pump.  So couple of laps into session 5 as I came into turn 2 (big run off now, happily), the dash turned into a christmas tree and the steering became super heavy and I went well off. I assumed it was a tyre failure so limped to the pits, but everything was OK. But....the master warning light was still on so I checked the DTCs and saw – C13E6 “Heat Protection”. Yes, that bloody steering rack computer sitting where the oil cooler should be has its own sensors and error logic, and decided I was using the steering wheel too much. I really appreciated the helpful information in the manual (my bold) POSSIBLE CAUSE • Continuing the overloading steering (Sports driving in the circuit etc,) “DATA MONITOR” >> “C/M TEMPERATURE”. The rise of steering force motor internal temperature caused the protection function to operate. This is not a system malfunction. INSPECTION END So, basically the electric motor in the steering rack got to 150c, and it decided to shut down without warning for my safety. Didn't feel safe. Short term I'll see if I can duct some air to that motor (the engine bay is sealed pretty tight). Long term, depending on how often this happens, I'll look into swapping the povo spec electric/hydraulic rack in. While the rack should be fine the power supply to the pump will be a pain and might be best to deal with it when I add a PDM.
    • And finally, 2 problems I really need to sort.  Firstly as Matt said the auto trans is not happy as it gets hot - I couldn't log the temps but the gauge showed 90o. On the first day I took it out back in Feb, because the coolant was getting hot I never got to any auto trans issues; but on this day by late session 3 and then really clearly in 4 and 5 as it got hotter it just would not shift up. You can hear the issue really clearly at 12:55 and 16:20 on the vid. So the good news is, literally this week Ecutek finally released tuning for the jatco 7 speed. I'll have a chat to Racebox and see what they can do electrically to keep it cooler and to get the gears, if anything. That will likely take some R&D and can only really happen on track as it never gets even warm with road use. I've also picked up some eye wateringly expensive Redline D6 ATF to try, it had the highest viscosity I could find at 100o so we will see if that helps (just waiting for some oil pan gaskets so I can change it properly). If neither of those work I need to remove the coolant/trans interwarmer and the radiator cooler and go to an external cooler....somewhere.....(goodbye washer reservoir?), and if that fails give up on this mad idea and wait for Nissan to release the manual 400R
