looks ok i guess, was never a fan of any of the prototype skylines. this one does look better than wat the one looked like at the japan motorshow....

3 cheers for keeping it a 6!!!! i have won several arguments with idiots that thought an 8 was going into it

Didn't read the article, does it say how much power it is expected to have. Anything under 450hp will put it way behind the Euros.

Also, is it just me or does it have a slight mustang look to it. not say I would confuse the two (I'll go wash my mouth out with soap and water)

My quote from November last year:

If we are going to guess, we have to be pretty speciffic:

Engine; "VQ37DDTT" 3.7 litre biturbo V6 based off the VQ engines, DOHC, direct injection

Power; peak power of 450 bhp at about 7000 rpm, peak torque of 600-650 Nm from 2500 to 4500 rpm

Gearbox; 6 speed manual with 7 speed sequential optional

Drive; 4wd with rear drive bias

Body; 2 door coupe, aluminium bonnet and front guards, magnesium alloy wheels, carbon fibre aero kits as a factory option (or as part of a V-Spec package?)

Price; In Australia, I'm guessing it will be Porsche 911 money as a private import, so around $200k. If it is released here as a full volume import by Nissan, it may be $25k to $40k less than that.

Direct injection is a long shot, but I will predict is as not many others will. So if I'm right everyone will think I am awesome. :) Although now that I have said that, any chance on that happening is gone :thanks:

I'm really hoping they go for 500hp. It seems to be the magic figure in the motoring industry these days. Gallardo, Ferrari F430, BMW M5, Corvette Z06, Mercedes SL55 and SL600, all have very very close to 500 bhp if not exactly 500 bhp - it's the power output every manufacturer seems to want. But I think reallistically 450 bhp will be about right.

I think my guess was pretty good!

the front bar and headlights still retains alot of the R34 GTR characteristics,

the rear spoiler looks like the R32 GTR spoiler just more areodynamic, good to see nissan keeping some of the original looks from the previous models.

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
