jazza08
Are you sure?? There was a thread that showed a gcg hi-flow making 260ishrwkw and putting on a vg30 rear housing and making 280rwkw (not exact figures). So wouldn't this suggest a vg30 is bigger? I cud be way off here but i thought thats what i read. jazza08
Sorry i thought GCG machined out the rear housing so they are the same size on the hi-flowed units?? I think im abit confused then Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122217-final-turbo-decision/page/2/#findComment-2260921 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
VG30 is bigger than the R33 RB25 one... power difference is minimal as they do machine etc etc Like you said, 20rwkw... others have seen 10rwkw... its minor Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122217-final-turbo-decision/page/2/#findComment-2260948 Share on other sites

Bass Junky
hey ppls. I'm making 250rwkw (with more than 240 for about 2000rpm) on the GCG high flow with poncams (260 x 9.15) Flapped valve was loose so boost response was ordinary. Fixed flapper valve, boost response is now awesome! I can make full boost in 3rd at 3000rpm. Well, 1 bar, and I run 0.9 bar to make 250. Once the new clutch goes in, I'll be taking it back to the dyno and having it fine tuned again to try to pick that number up a bit. I've got all supporting fuel mods and blah blah blah. R31Nismoid
Flapped valve was loose so boost response was ordinary. Fixed flapper valve, boost response is now awesome! Translation for that... Sydneykid
GCG state on their website that they don't do group buys. Tell me about it, it took me a year to organise. Finally I had to arrange it via Jamex (a GCG, Whiteline and Bilstein reseller) and they only did it because of the good response from the suspension Group Buy. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122217-final-turbo-decision/page/2/#findComment-2262097 Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
so what boost level would this run?? As much as you need. Just keep going till you are happy with the power etc and the tune is safe. all there is too it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122217-final-turbo-decision/page/2/#findComment-2263591 Share on other sites
Abo Bob
I can't really see the turbo doing anything worthwhile above 1.4bar and it may well be next to worthless to go much above 1.2bar.
