A woman and her 12 yo daughter were struck and killed by a Skyline (probably GT-R) overnight in Melbourne. There was a considerable amount of damage to the Skyline, so I suspect the driver was hoofing it.

I truly hope it was not one of ours.

I was readin the paper at work yesterday and they had a 200sx rapped around a pole. Think the driver was instantly killed and passenger seriouisly hurt. I cant remember exact details as i just skimmed the article.

hmm knowing all this, it still wouldnt stop drivers speeding. i guess speeding sometimes isnt the issue. More like taking the risks of putting your foot down at wrong times. Ie around corners or bumpy roads, or if your intenions are actually trying to be stupid..

sigh.. be careful everyone..

I saw this 1,

it was a maroon 200sx S14. Wrapped around a pole, on Hume hwy, Opposite to Liverpool RTA at about 5am in the morning Sunday. Cos i was driving my dad to the air port.

cant recognise the car, until u see the ass 200sx!!! must be doing really fast.

Is it for certain that he/she was speeding? I suppose at 8pm, the roads are not that busy, so I guess pedestrians will be easy to spot if they were crossing the roads and no mother would risk crossing the road with her 12 year old child.

I am curious to knwo what happened, cos something similar happened to me as I mentioned in the following thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=122524&hl=

The report was simply that they were pedestrians. There was nothing in the report to suggest that the driver was in any way "at fault" - but as I said, the degree of damage indicates (to me, at least) that the car was travelling at some speed. The windscreen was almost caved in, and the leading edge of the bonnet had been pushed back and up.

I don't believe there is any hard evidence to indicate any act of idiocy or otherwise on the part of either party involved. It may be possible to inflict that level of damage to a R32 travelling at the speed limit. So let's not start slamming the driver for what happened.

And actually, it was only the mother who died (my bad).

whilst i do feel sympathy for them its no different to:

dad and son walk across street crossing

1984 holden camira hits them both

both deceased.

just because its a skyline hardly changes anything IMHO

...fact that it's a skyline doesn't change anything, other than the perception of everybody else that it must have been the car's fault, not the driver :whistling: Most sensible minded people know that it's the case, but the increasing majority of the 'blamers' in this society it's another story. In the back of their mind they associate "that type of car", with "that sort of person".

You're right but being a Skyline forum we are gonna talk about it :whistling: Differnce is you are far less likley to fang an sh|t box camira than a skyline. You can't say that's not the truth.

Sick of hearing story's like this, far to many FU(KWITS in cars on the road. I hope they rot in jail. So often I see young wa#kers in fast cars eager to show how big their wang is, not even considering what might happen. Sad really. When will people learn.

What i dont understand is y people jump out infront of cars, is it really worth saving a few seconds and trying to cross the road while there is a car coming directly at u

Thats right as its a hell of a lot easier to stop walking than it is a 1600kg car at the speedlimit.

All I can say is lucky it was outside of a hospital, the girl might not still be fighting otherwise. (assuming it was their time and it was going to happen anyway...)

and to everyone please do a defencive driving course if you havent done one. They do teach you what to do in these situations to try and avoid them, or at least reduce injury. They work.

    • Resizing injectors in Nistune can be done a couple of ways, and there are a couple of ways that you can make a mess of it. The tuner needs to be really aware of the effects of whichever approach he uses (either K, or TIM). They are both easy enough to "get the injector size right" to run the engine. But little details like old start enrichment and hot start are affected differently, depending on which boxes you check.
    • Pretty safe to say almost everyone that has tuned their own car has experienced this issue. The difference being that we have our laptop in the car and when it happens, it's literally 10 seconds of tuning to sort it.  Would you be happy to plug in your laptop and sort this yourself? It is a very simple process and there is no risk of harming your engine (if you are worried about that).
    • Yeah thats the next step now, either they wil or i will take out for a drive to work and go straight their after work and see is we get the same issues 🤞  thought i try my luck here too, never know someone else might have had the same issue but thanks for the reply
    • Basically your tuner needs to drive it for the 30 min (or whatever) to create the same conditions then check the ECU settings and sensors at that time. They may not be excited to because that takes them 30 min rather than just opening the bonnet and seeing the problem straight away.... Hot start is generally not as tricky as cold start, but there would be a table for fuel enrichment vs coolant temp as a starting point
    • Yeah, they all cant say anything for sure as everything is working fine . Said unable to find an issue untill it stops again. Could mist likely be CAS wiring or IAS valve issue but again not 100%
