Have noticed probably over the past month the increase in police patrolling the Monash freeway in general espec between the Warrigal - Jacksons road area..

For any that do travel near Jacksons road be careful speed slows to 80 just before the off ramp and the police have been know to sit in this area to catch the ones over 80...

Good, Im sick of f**kwits sitting on my arse as I enter the eastlink site off the fwy from the left hand lane.

It's slowed to 80 for the safety of the fellas working not much further than 1m from the concrete barriers, and for the fact that trucks and light vehicles enter the site off the fwy, including my self as I said.

Was going to post last night. I drove down the freeway last night through the Burnley Tunnel from Dandenong. The drive was perfect. Not one tailgater and large gaps left. Honestly I have never seen driving like this over here. Something must have hit home yesterday. Keep it up Melburnians. >_<

Great!

I use the monash every morning and night and having just 1 cop car parked on the side of the freeway will make everyone do 20km under the speed limit if you can even get close to 100km/h during peak times and just slam on their brakes for no reason.

If the governement want to do something constructive for the monash freeway they need to do some roadworks so its not a 'carpark' every morning and night!!

Only thing i do find amusing was in the Herald sun yesterday there was an article informing the public that the police are out to stop bullying on the Monash. Referring to tailgaters and speeders etc... They showed a pic of 3 Police motor bikes spread over 3 lanes and the highway patrol car behind them... Holding up a stack of traffic... personally i think it's a great idea but blocking the freeway for a pic showing them bullying the public and blocking the road was not such a wise idea...

They actually stopped on the freeway or were they just going slow?

just got home from work and there was a marked car that had pulled over a camry just after warrigal rd, and few kms up the road before blackburn an unmarked dark blue commodore writing a ticket for another car..

although its not the monash...and I saw the article also...I was driving on the eastern to the city today and say 2 un-marked cars and one marked one...one the way back 2night I saw 2 marked ones...seems to be heaps about.

on another note I have an office in Broadmeadows and cops setup a vehicle check around there...good to see no Skylines were one the side...I drove past and they didn't even pull me over - I was pretty worried as who knows what they could defect me for

i loath the monash, every day at 8 and every night at 5:30 i sit there and watch the $$$ fly out the window as my car sips away at my bank balance.

on the police issue, iv seen a poice car every morninig without fail but when im on there, there isnt really any way u can speed beacuse of the bogdown of traffic. i just wish that he would have been near when that truck driver almost ran up my tail because he wasnt looking and had to stand on the brakes at the last minute as i jumped 4ward as much as i could, and then he spat the dummy at me and started tailgateing me, even when i went to turn off he followed me into the turning lane but didnt go onto the offrmap, what a mega tool

Seven people have died on the Monash Freeway since 1 January 2000.

it starts and stops there.. seven people is an absolutely miniscule amount compared to the amount of drivers that travel along that road each day

i drive from beaconsfield end to police rd and back every day, 6 days a week and i still havnt once seen a cop. where are they?? so coulda used 1 today to get the como driver off my arse. couldnt even see his bonnet and i was in the left lane on the limit!

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
