R31Nismoid
Why would you want to do that? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2331587 Share on other sites
wraith_skyline
Make it easier to fit an aftermarket BOV in there, plus i wont have to buy 2 then, and i already got a GFB stealth fx i wanna put on it and i dont think i can get 2 in there. 9krpm
There is nothing wrong with the stock twin. They are cheap brand new from nissan, reliable and works very well. I even have one in my turbo s2k Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2332014 Share on other sites
hanyou
soo the type r didnt work well by itself? interesetd in this as well.. as i cant find reason to buy new hks ssqv kit lol abit expensive for some noise Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2332049 Share on other sites

Adriano
If you want the noise, spend your money on a PFC d-jetro, and vent the standard bov, lots af noise and more power, without the black smoke, stalling and bad fuel economy. BOOSTD
I run no BOV's. The ARC intercooler kit blanks them off. Much better throttle response. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2332255 Share on other sites
Leewah
Stick with the stockies. No BOVs on the market will do a better job than original. Most if not all of the big HP GTRs I know of still use them. I know from experience that they can hold 38psi without missing a beat. wraith_skyline
I was gunna run hybrids, coz i heard the gtr still suffers from the afm problem, just want a bit more noise Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2384300 Share on other sites
T04GTR
the stock ones are the best. end of story. if you just want the noise : then any workshop with a welder could do it for you. a bov regardless of type can hold infinate boost. if hooked up corectly. "pascals law" lol if its got boost presure trying to open it. its got the SAME boost pushing on the other side keeping it shut! aswell as whatever the spring tension is aswell. so its imposible for it to leak physicly. unless the seat area is worn obvoiusly i tryed 2 hks ssq ones and they didnt work for shit. well they did work. but the amount of compressor surge i was getting was retarded. Sydneykid
The Standard GTR BOV's are better than 99% of the aftermarket ones you can buy. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2384992 Share on other sites
2gceffy
how much are the stock gtr bov's from nissan? also can you only buy one? part number also if anyone knows? my rb25 one leaked real bad so i blocked it off n been thinkin what to put there insted n this sounds good.. hope it fits ahaha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2385272 Share on other sites
Beer Baron
the greddy type R kit for GTR replaces the whole stock assembly with 1 BOV. the stock ones are fine. having said that I run twin Blitz ones (to atmo) on my GTR and have no stalling, no idle problems, no compressor surge. And it's running AFMs and a PFC (standard version). So I dont quite know what all the fuss is about? Beer Baron
i never said there was any improvment, gary. In fact in my post I said the stock ones are fine. I was just pointing out that I've had zero problems running twin, atmo BOVs. and the reason they are there is they were already fitted to the car when I bought it. If it had had stock ones they would still be there, BUT I'm not going to pull off something that works perfectly well (and sounds cool!) to return to stock. just because other people have problems I've yet to experience either with the stock ECU or the PFC. R31Nismoid
stalling and associated comes down to driving style. I didnt have a BOV for a while, and i ended up being able to make it stall or stop it from stalling depending on throttle position etc etc Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126240-gtr-single-bov-conversion/#findComment-2386441 Share on other sites
