Geeze guys, be nice.

Maybe he has a thin - yet tall - garage, and can't get out of the car easily.

Cyber Century should have them (or at least know where you can get them).

I have no idea where they are - just look for the bright lights.

dont try ebay :S unless your buying the hinges themselves. the instruction to make the hinges are available free on the net or $20 plus postage (how can an email have postage?) on ebay...

your looking about $1k+ for the hinges. seen em for $1600 off one website :S

the doors may need modifying too so it may not be a true DIY kits anyhoo. why do it yourself and screw it up or have a pro do it and screw it up. ;)

Perhaps you could enquire on group buys while your looking? i wouldnt mind the look but no f*king way am i paying that much when a highflow turbo is $900 a nos kit is $800 new rear treads $700 etc etc etc

yeh i've heard/seen some of the cheaper kits, the door only opens up to like 45 degrees, so u have to move back and sidewards at the same time... if u get me, and the good kits that go right up/forward are like 6 grand i think.

i dont really see whats so wrong with this mod, other ppl dont really seem to like it, as there are alot of ricers out there with similar things, but i dont see it as being that bad. if thats what u wanna do, then by all means do it. oh, and are these doors legal?

are they legal... probably the best question yet.

Im trying to trackdown a manufacturer buy about 10 sets off to put on my website (saikoogarage.com). They are universal, so should sell ok. Just hard tracing products back to their manufacturer sometimes... And finding decent prices on bits that work.

Ill be buying one set to go on my car (97 stagea), and if they hold up, ill purchase another 9.

the ones im looking at can be set to open to 90 and 110 degrees, so you can actually slant them forward. THey have gas struts to lift them, or there is optional electric opening mechanisms.

Looking at maybe $1200-$1500.

Im in no rush to do this, btw... But it will be done! Theres definitely a market for them here. Not everyones cup of tea, tho.

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
