people say its crap because they read off other forums.. people had had bad expereince in some.. other people are pretty happy rather impressed with the " CHEAP " turbo they have.

but they are not as bad as people think... i was hesitant then but i guess theres only one way to prove it.

they dont boost up till 4000rpm... they are the same with any other turbo with .84 rear housing.. even a GT35/40 on a 2.5L engine will boost till the 4000rpm mark due to the .82 rear exhause.. HKS 25/30 and the like are of course will have more response due to its size.

T70 are not as bad as people think they are just because they read it in other forums.

and for the record.. im making 324HP at 10psi.. 425hp at 17psi and 510HP at 24Psi..of course with all the supporting mods.

I guess thats working for me then.

Same model "T70" as this guy is running?

I believe there are a few variants

wow thats awesome figures for that t70...the one i got from 2fast2furious didnt boost till about 4500rpm, and on 18psi i only made 345rwhp @ Mercury Motorsports Dyno. I like your figures better, would have given me more street cred. Stupid me used the oil line they supplied, supposed to be a teflon inner s/s line and well the heat cooked it and the inside carbonised and caused a blockage and well we all know how well turbos spool with no oil in them dont we

Happy to say i replaced it with a gt3076r or something like that with a .63 rear....way better.

LOL make up your mind you get what you pay for!

If you want a decent reliable turbo then pay for it, like everyone else has  dont mean to be harsh but you have to do other mods to fit these turbos dump/front pipe external wastegate why not make sure you do it right from the start and get a decent turbo plus supporting mods  that way the turbo will spool quickly and you will have good top end power too, but since you already have this turbo keep us updated on how it goes, remember its not how much power you make its when you make it that is important too!

mine were purchased off Ebay and is made by MasterPower Super T70.

it does not go to full boost at 4000rpm,. rather they start spooling boost at that stage.

Master Power are based in the US... they actually make turbo internals for garrett... same thing with HKS,. they get their turbo off garrett and brand them HKS and sell them at higher price.. garrett of course would like to make money and get them off Masterpower or other small brand busineses.

but its true.. u get what u payed for.. it depends on your set up too.. so it is important to keep that in mind.

bigger injectors and bigger fuel pump and cams would make it runs better.

oh and yeah...

I Drive a Supra hence the difference.

Your best off getting a turbo that bolts onto the standard manifold the turbo may be cheap but the supporting mods wont me new manifold, water and oil lines etc. and not a good match for the RB25 way to laaaggggyyy for a street car. Get a better matched turbo GCG highflow or HKS GTRS. good for around 270rwkw with good response

like i said... people would bad them down coz they read it somewhere.. till u use and based in on your experience then it all changes.

and again,.. spooling at 4000rpm is what u get for having a big turbo... get yourself a bolt on HKS one and they will spool alot quicker... but then again.. you will be limited to HP and they run out of puffs after 65000rpm.. while top end boost till red line.

i must admit im impressed with a mate who has 300hp on 2500rpm.. i cant beat the facker on the street.. but the hi way is my friend.. just the bad side on his is that he burns tyres all the time due to bad wheelspin.

    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
