my cars been feeling real weak for some reason. ive noticed ever since i put that stupid caltex vortex 98 instead of the usual BP ultimate. i thought this was the problem so the next time i filled up i only used BP but it still feels weak. i remembered i was adjusting the release point for my BOV before but im not sure if this has a impact on why my car feels so weak.

i think its something to do with the turbo. cuz the car runs like the turbo isnt workn....like no pull....or at least very lil. normally there was a big amount of pull.

is it just me or is there something wrong?

if the only thing you remember playing around with was ur bov.. try taknig off you bov and putting stock one on and see if it fixes it..

using different brands of fuels (assuming all 98ron) shouldnt affect it that much.. it may be noticeable but not as big as a difference as your explaining.

Vortex, Ive had similar problems on, its cheap and its shit.

i only tried it because ppl on here said they were pulln 500kms out of a full tank wen i can only pull out 400 if i drive like a granny. they also said performance if very good.

i guess its a load of bs in terms of my car.

the only other fuel im gonna try is shells 100 octane.

or maybe your car feels weaker because you are more used to it? Could also be the case. Is for me!

that's what happened to me. then u give it a boot full on a narrow bumpy street somewhere (as opposed to fwy) and you remeber how damn hard it goes. lol

I have been using vortex 98 with no problems at all for nearly 1 year now. Never ever used any other fuel than vortex!! so doubt your car will affect it that much with using different 98 brand fuel.

So must be something else than using different fuel.

ive used vortex, its fine.

prolly the same pump you used it form too since I live in your area.

went back to ultimate when i filled up $85 one day and only saved $2 using a safeway voucher! thats when I realised its worth the extra $100 or so a year to just use ultimate

that cheap nasty bov is probably leaking now

put the stock one back on

i wouldnt call it a cheap BOV....cost me 700 bux.....lol.

its some GFB one. newai is it possible that its leaking?

is tehre a way to stop it leaking? or do i have to put the stock back on?

well.....i didnt actually pay for it i got it for a bday present off some mates....although wen i was at my local autobarn i saw the pricetag....

is it possible that its leaking though seriouslY?

anjoo i have these magic beans you can buy for $50 if u like ???

there magic

i havnt got $50 but ill trade u my cow....its milk is awsome

lol 700bux.

You're on weed.

weed doesnt make you spend $700 on a pfffft-device. lol.... anyway Autobarn are notorious for markups. 4-ply Thermaltake silicone hose, $24 for a 90degree peice off ebay JustJap, at Autobarn they are $64! I'll never shop there.

I thought GFB's come with flame throwers too ??? lol (sorry, cheap I know) :)

lol 700bux.

You're on weed.

i dont think u no just how much BOVs are mate.....they all around the 500-800 mark....i wouldnt be suprised if there were more exspensive ones

for a genuine one newai.......

I thought GFB's come with flame throwers too ??? lol (sorry, cheap I know)

lol dw man im used to it......dun matter wat ppl say im gonna get one sooner or later......

    • -10 is plenty for running to an oil cooler. When you look at oil feeds, like power steering feeds, they're much smaller, and then just a larger hose size to move volume in less pressure. No need for -12. Even on the race cars, like Duncans, and endurance cars, most of them are all running -10 and everything works perfectly fine, temps are under control, and there's no restrictions.
    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
    • More so GReddy oil relocation kits, sandwich plates, etc. all use 10AN fittings. And same, I've only used 10AN and my car sees track work (circuit, doing laps, not 10 sec squirt business).
    • street use or race track, what hose size and why? what factors change with the hose size options ?   see most comon is an10. when you see most oem external coolers are closer to an12? does high volume oil pump like nitto need an12 or 10 be just fine
