Xizor
Hi Guys, My car seems to have a problem whereby if i am say going around a round about, i cannot give it any real power otherwise the car literally starts to conk out and almost stall/come to a crawl unless i back off and when im out of the corner a bit it will let me put the power down again. Its a bit freaky to be honest... like im out of petrol. But i had 1/3 of a tank the other day when it last happened so yeah thats not it. Anyone had this problem before and know what the cause is? CEF11E
fuel starvation at the pump end, Your fuel pump has possible fallen out of the cradle or you micht have some crap stuck on it. VERY bad for your engine. because it will lean out and go BANG!!! Drive very carefully untill the tank is bone dry and inspect the fuel tank. Beer Baron
yes it's either: 1. your aftermarket pump was not mounted properly (not low enough and with a good pick-up) 2. your pump is dying. 3. your standard pump has come out of the cradle, or the cradle has slid out of it's bracket at the bottom of the tank. either way get into the tank and see what the problem is. it will be killing your pump very quickly if it's running dry like that so often. Xizor
It only happens if i try to put my foot down in a round about or sharp corner, normal driving it almost never occurs, so i know how to avoid it. I have stock fuel pump with a GTR fuel filter. I dont think this is something i can do myself because i have absoltely no idea how or how anything should be. But are you saying the tank has to be empty?? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/131980-fuel-cut-out-when-cornering/#findComment-2444165 Share on other sites
Beer Baron
tank doesn't have to be empty, but the less fuel, they nicer it is to do. if you are not sure what you're doing just take it to a workshop. any competent mechanic should be able to sort it out no problem. Smally514
ok so I'm having the same problem however I have walbro 341 pump it is getting pretty old was in the car before I bought it, brand new Link ECU and boost controller. and other mods. not sure if how much psi I am running is relevant but gate pressure is about 13-14psi. stage one is 17 stage two is 19.5. under load when cornering fuel cut occurs. happens up some steep hills if I put my foot down to much. does not happen under braking. along a straight roads at slow speeds sharp left to right it also cuts out..?? any ideas?? my thoughts were possibly a sensors is not happy there for telling the ECU to cut fuel?? or typical pump mounting or pump is on its way out.. KiwiRS4T
Is your Walbro directly wired? Get your fuel pressure tested (have you replaced the fuel filter in the engine bay?). Have a look in the tank to see if pickup is still in the right place and sock on the end is in good nick. Ed.williams5
I would just pull the access cover in the trunk/boot and pull the whole fuel cage and see what the deal is...with the cover off can shine a light in and see if there's any sediment too Edited December 6, 2016 by Ed.williams5 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/131980-fuel-cut-out-when-cornering/#findComment-7796428 Share on other sites

Actually here is a thread with some pics as well as a "how to " link -apparently they are a pain to do on your car: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/131980-fuel-cut-out-when-cornering/#findComment-7796498 Share on other sites
