Apparently not. You need to get the fitted properly, it aint a simple "remove and fit" job.

Also they cost 2K!

Firstly, sII is a very difficult fit. The bonnet/front bar is actually a different shape.

SI i beleive can be made to fit quite easily, because the headlights are the same shape. the brackets are slightly different, so will require slight mods. the grill probably won't bolt on, but that's fine, just get a gtr fibreglass grill for $100.

I've actually sourced a set of gtr xenons from japan and they're coming in. Don't hold your breath waiting for me though, i'm very busy with uni atm.

Thanks for your help guys,

also what difference is there with the S1 GTR and SII GTR headlights?

No difference at all, series III are a little different besides the fact that they are projector xenons.

Any R33 Gtr H/lights will fit series I ( only S I) but you have to modify them a little to fit .

You have to take off the rear spacers ( easy to do) and they dont have a bottom braket where they fit on the grill .

lolz..nah not 2k, i think itz around 600bux for the two.

If you can get them for $600 per pair, ill buy them of you for $800 and you can make $200 a pair .

They sell for over 100,000 Yen used !

Yep, in all my searching I saw one complete set with ballasts and bulbs for about 800 delivered, the rest were exxy.

That would have to be around the 50,000 yen, I would say there was something wrong with them at that price ....

I agree with wrxhoon. I paid about 2k landed for mine. I looked ages for some, the cheap ones were usually damaged or didn't come with ballasts or were the series 1 with retrofitted HID bulbs (crap)....

If you can get them for under 2k landed you've got yourself a good deal.

When retrofitting the S3 lights to a S1 or 2 GTR, do they plug straight in, or is a rewire of the headlight loom needed aswell? Some where down the track i'd like to fit these to my GTR, standard headlights are terrible.

Nothing wrong with the standard S I+S II GTR h/lights mate . Make sure you get the full 13.8-14 volts on them and they light up very nice( they are never going to be like genuine xenons though). In my old 33 i wire them with a rely and made the lows stay on when the h/beams went on as well, excelent light .

They pretty much plug straight in. You will have to file/cut the plug very minor to get them to fit, the plug is the same shape, but has the 'guide' lines in different places... just cut/file them away and it fits perfect.

G`day mate

Can you please help. I`ve finally found genu. R33 GTR Xenons headlights for my baby, but they have no bulbs or ballasts. I cant find exact info. so i can purchase them. I`d like to go as similar (specs) to OEM as possible.

Any help much appreciated

Regards Martin

Agreed. A set went for 101,000 yen last night and that would've been a very good buy at that price. It was a bargain. that equals about $1200 - $1500 landed depending on your buyers arrangement.

Lol just read this threads from 2006... oh well.

Well you can buy Nissan ballasts and bulbs if you're keen. They might be expensive but it's worth a shot:

Ballasts (ACTUATOR ASSY-HEAD LAMP) 26055-98U00

Xenon Bulbs (BULB-XENON) 26297-89901

You will need a series III GTR VIN number in order to order parts for these. Here's one i picked out of the air that turned out to be valid: BCNR33-043434

No idea where you are but if you're in Sydney order Nissan parts from Crows Nest nissan parts counter or Hornsby nissan parts counter for best chance of success.

Good luck!

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
