A fun day @ Sandown today as a spectator, so would have been great as an entrant!

Scotsman sure showed 'em a huge wang at the carpark motorkhana. Had ppl cheering from 6 yr olds to 70 yr olds. Did SAU proud. Best drift of the day.

Here's a few pics of the infamous Z-Tune R34 GTR. The car definately left me in awe.

My heart goes out to it's new owner for having to chose between this AND a Porsche GT2 each day.

Lucky b@$tard!

Ok, this vid is bad quality as it was taken from a mobile phone, but check out Chris handing down a lesson in drifting - wang style!

Hopefully someone has a better reso copy.

EDIT: strangely I can't seem to attaach the .3gp file??

All the dutton guys and girls are just down the road from me now....i can hear the beer being consumed! Even the Lada has been dropped off at my place :(

I just saw the Z-tune drive past.... ultra porn!!!

A non-entrant, but a worthy photo-stopper I found in the carpark...

What are the chances!!

There was one of these at Calder today (had Queensland plates). So damn sexy!! Had the pleasure to sit in it and start/rev the engine. Didn't bother to ask for a drive :D Sometimes working at Calder has it's perks :D.

LOL age was tops did a HUGE Launch as it took off that car is HOT!!!!!

Great work to all the guys who competed had a great day watching and being Team Taxi driver so a few of the crew could relax with a few beers...

Top work all!!!

OK Al - here's how it went...

Chris & Snowy did ace - 6th outright!

Juz and Adam were high up in the teams with Adam winning 2nd outright in class.

Plenty of other great results (mainly from Snows and Scootie) - but Steve McQueen had a number of class wins, even I managed a 3rd!

Cougar (Chris, lost the edge, holding on to tight) won 4 trophies and Troy broke 1 of them. I stole 2 - says the QLD outright class K 2nd place driver.

Snowy tried his best to hit the wall at Winton, but missed.

Troy was 2/10th second behind Snowy at Sandown.

Johnny Kage (Z-Tune) FTW at playing chicken between Benalia and Shep.

No one needs to see Snowy's orange spandex undies.

Juz bought Adam a lap dance.

Adam sucks at Paper Rock Scissors, but did ace at ruining Justine's tyres.

The 58-0 bet was over on the first event when I beat Snowy at the Slalom. Haha

I hit 6 cones... some really well.

Front numberplates are a must - depsite what people tell you.

Bullet Roadster = real man's MX5

I beat some ace cars but basically sucked at everything.

Jeff B is the cheaterest of the cheaters - and very successful at it.

Pitman rocks.

My SAU jacket is full of Red Bull.

Adam and Chris can fight over the crazy chick with no undies and tracksuit pants.

Bec is a star at carting all our shit around.

Alan - your headlights are on.

The Middleton boys know how to treat a Porsche.

The Silver Bullet is still in one piece and survived plenty of on-limiter runs, harsh launches and a 1.5bar double lap of Sandown.

Bec - read and learn: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001098/

Everyone loves the gate.

Everyone agrees with Alan that his Dutton 'friends' are strange.

Ferni is NEVER getting his spacers back - the white whale looks very tough with wide wheels.

Dutton is officially THE most expensive weekend ever.

I'm sure there was plenty more - but there's been a few beers since everything happened, and I'm old and forgetful.

But yes...

Congrats to Chris and Andrew for doing so well in a very competitive field. Congrats to Juz and Adam for doing super-well despite Adam showing off when ever he could. Congrats to Bris for beating Ferraris and Porsches with the mighty 32 - it's a pleasure to be part of the brotherhood :D

And especially from me - a MASSIVE thanks to Troy for the opportunity to punish his car as much as I dared. It was ace - I had a ball!

J

Congrats to all the SAU entrants. You flew the flag high and proud. Congrats on Snowey and Chris for their 6th.

Was trying to make it to Sandown on Sunday but things didn't quite pan out right at home and I got stuck :) I really wanted to see some top class machinery in action.

Well done guys, great effort..

Troy, looks like all that effort in getting the car ready for the event was worth it, pity about the slave cylinder....

Any times for Sandown?? who was fastest??

We clocked the Z-TUNE at 1:22.4, did it go quicker??

    • You’ll want to have the block drilled and tapped to suit 1/2in head studs and the head for the same. How much power do you intend to make?
    • Sorry for resurrecting an oldish thread Not much has happened in the past year since the last update. The car did another 1000 miles or so and failed the MOT for the first time in October (failed on tyres which had been advised for a couple of years) In October the car got put up for sale and was removed in November due to no interest, being so close to christmas it was to be expected. The roads were dry in February so I decided to tax it early and get the new tyres fitted.   Fast forward to April, I got someone in to give the car a good clean after sitting for the winter.                                 The car got re-advertised and today (Saturday 3rd May) the car sold. The new owner is planning a GTR conversion at some point and a respray in the same pearl white. It's bitter sweet, it's a shame to have the car sit there for half the year and then only do 1000 miles. The kids are growing too quick and space in the back is getting limited. It's been a great 6.5 years of ownership
    • And if you want more power, more reliably, and cheaper, go get the Aussie RB... The 4L Barra and put that in instead.
    • No cats will keep discolouring the rear bar. Sends white paint a weird yellow stain. Cut and polish normally gets it out, but you'll be doing that every fortnight I found.
    • Both heads will be equally reliable or unreliable depending on what you do to them.  Stock the RB26 head will flow more. You have access to the stock intake ITB manifold on the RB26 cheaply which flows really well(1000hp+).   Arguably more aftermarket support for RB26, though in Aus we love our RB30 SOHC heads too.    The only downsides to the RB26 head is if you have a VL commodore and want to keep the SOHC look.  Where you may have an issue is drilling out the rb30 block for the bigger head studs but if you are building a big power motor you'd probably put bigger studs on the SOHC head too.  This is just about finding a good machine shop, sometimes easier said than done.  RB30 head worked can make big power just like a Rb26 head, so really it actually more comes down to what your preference is for your car.  People now even making billet versions of both.
