will have had it a year, 28/10/06. six weeks shy of a year.

Bought it for something different, i fell in love with the look years ago, when i was about 16. Knew id end up with one. hoped so, at least.

and it was cheap. No way you can get a car with the features and power for the same money here in aus.

always wanted a R33 coupe, but with the impending birth of our 2nd kiddie it wasnt meant to be, so I bit the bullet in mid July 2005 and flew to Qld to buy my Series 1 for just shy of 18k - was cheapest in Aust at that time. ;)

i wanted one since the article i saw in fast fours i think,5 years ago.i enquired then and a s1 was going to be $60'000 as there was only one here.ive always had wagons too,4wd corolla wagon with a 20v in it and an r31 wagon with a rb30det.

ive had my stag 2 years

Ours was bought at auction in Japan in May 2004, arrived in June 2004, registered in August 2004.

Bought to replace an old ED Falcon waggon for towing the race car (R32GTST) and other general waggon duties (ie; carrying stuff).

 Cheers :)

Brought ours the day after my birthday (it's Sheri here again! Sweet as birthday pressie to me!), November '05, flew to queensland, brought from Motovation, and drove home to Tassie, which wasn't such an easy feat, I was 7 1/2 months pregnant......Not a nice drive  Brought her for something a little different, was looking at a R33, but when we found out we were expecting a baby, realised that all the baby 'stuff' that needs to acompany a baby everywhere wouldn't fit, so decided a wagon derived from a R33 would be the perfect option......and everyone is happy.

i wanted a car with a little more go than my corolla,

i wanted something different that not everybody had, and also something that i wouldnt get raped by the insurance companies over.

Driving along Parramatta Rd, i have seen many stagea's before and have always had a liking for them, when i went to Autosalon final battle last year i saw a nice yellow S2 and actually took my first good look at a stagea and all of the benefits it had to offer. what finally persuaded me to buy one was that when i do eventually start a family, i wont have do get rid of my stagea because it is so practical.

I bought mine in July 06' :O

It was to replace a stupid darn impulse buy on a **cough** PT Cruiser :O

I rescued a very abused dog from the pound and so had to buy something that was pratical yet different to fit 2 Staffy's. I asked my bro's gf if there was an imported wagon and she suggested the stag's. Here in WA (one place has monopoly)S1's where up around the 20k mark and the S2's were 27k and had all sold out so being impatient me I found my baby in SA for $16k :(

PS: I didn't want a falcon wagon, I think they are too big and heavy.. the stag has the room, its low and I just love back end :D

Bought my S2 stag in March 06.

Was to replace my SR20 turbo silvia - had my fun with that and it was time for a bigger, more practical car.

Was kind of the best of both worlds in the Stagea.

Its got all the perks of a luxury wagon and the reliability and the same engine and turbo etc. as the skyline.

Always wanted an R34 skyline so this was the next best thing. And since a 2 door R34 would've been about as practical as our 2 door silvia, it really would've been between a 4-door r34 and a stagea. The stagea was just better for what we wanted - more space, and awd and in my opinion a better interior. Plus I like the sports wagon look. :(

bought it in October 04 while i was on the gold coast for the Indy 500. bought my R33 in July of 03, and straight after i regretted it and wanted a wagon again (first car was a kingswood wagon), then i found the stagea and since i bought the skyline i needed a stagea. This one came up for sale while i was at the gold coast so i snapped it up. I think i was about the 5th person on SAU with one, after SK, Prank, Jay95R33 and i think one more.

paid for mine on 31/5/06 and i picked her up on 11/9/06 i got mine as the patrol was costing too much to run and upkeep so a new car was on the cards i spotted the yellow s2 on parramatta rd and did my research on them and fell in love i wanted auto and triptronic was a bonus id decided s2 was the way to go .i wanted a stocky as a little less chance of being thrashed in nippon land hey.but all is good and i couldnt be happier with it especially seing the gamble paid off with the price.u mite say i got a bargain

Got mine in June 06

It replaced my RB20DET Onevia, was sick of getting hasseled by the cops down here in melbourne needed something that could easily fit my surfboards and a few things for work still wanted performance, liked the look of the stag.

We bought our Stagea in December 2003, while on the IVF program, knowing a GTI-R isn't the most practical car for kids. Took 4 months to arrive.

Plans were to sell the Pulsar or my old XD falcon, but pulsar needed work, and the misses loves it (now with all the fruit, hoping for 250+ kw)

Also aquired an EL GT after my father passed

With all the rego's and associated insurances haven't really touched the Stagea besides general maintaining and lowered. We are now looking to do the exhaust and maybe wheels for starters

always wanted a wagon for the dog carrying duties etc, looked at heaps of different makes models etc. i didnt even know these things existed till i was looking through unique cars mag. saw a series1 in there and started asking around a few performance workshops in town.

also a mate is a playstation nerd and when told him what i was looking at getting (S1) he showed me a series2 on GT4 and i liked it more.

p.s he was so pissed of when i turned up at his place 3 weeks later in it the look on his face was awesome hahaha.

the first wagon i wanted was the Volvo T5R when i was studying in the US years ago. Why did i want a wagon a fast one? I guess just to make smart people looks stupind if you know wwhat i mean. Meaning an individual thought it was a wagon and he can smoke it. In fact he got smoked!!!

Had the stagea for a couple of months now. So far is all good and its going to get better and better

Was originally looking for a black series 2 manual for brett...he found his car and i felt left out :P ...so got Craig to start searching for me. I think after 24hours i found my baby..s1 with dayz kit and was the one i knew i wanted :D brought it pretty much then and there, that was back in April 06! Got the car in June 06, one week before my 22nd birthday :( Still wash and vacuum her every week..still getting over the fact i have a new car :D Our 3 month anniversary soon and i just had to get a new battery today! I love her to death best thing i ever got and love every minute

    • Hello, just just bought an 1999 enr34 with a stock rb25neo and I'm looking to upgrade the engine to 500whp I know some basic things but wondering if there are things I'll need to do to upgrade the stock block and all the bits and pieces to achieve this.
    • Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions. Got the seats out (hoping I could find some existing grommets but no such luck). By tapping and measuring etc. I could figure out where I could drill through if needed. But first I borrowed an inspection camera and managed to go through factory holes in the chassis rail and could see that the captive nut was holding steady which is why it could retighten. So it was indeed a stripped section of thread, so I applied downforce by levering the bolt head with a screwdriver and went slowly back and forth until it came out. Camera helped a lot cos I could monitor that the captive nut was holding tight. Now I just have one very seized main subframe nut to tackle 😅
    • BOVs do have a purpose, if you ever log pressure before and after the throttle body, you will see a spike pre throttle on lift off from a WOT condition. Enough to bend throttle blades / damage e-throttle motors or simple assist in blowing off cooler pipes. FWIW, the above on really applies to those running at least 2 bar of boost. OP shouldn't have an issue, on the other hand, here are some videos of my shit box over a decade ago with some succulent dose with the airbox on and off. That shit box is unrecognisable these days 🫠
    • I've tried all different combinations of BOVs/ no BOV and stock bypass valves over the years, on gear changes the stock bypass valve seems to get the car back on boost quicker because in part the turbos wheel speed isn't being slowed down by reversion, although they have issues holding boost much over the stock setting. Most aftermarket BOVs you can adjust the spring, tighter will make it open later and close sooner, but in my experience it'll cause a bit of flutter at low load/rpm anyway. I've also got some input into this whole no bov causing turbo wear, never had an issue on any on my turbos HOWEVER, I got my R33 GTST with 200k kms on it, with from what I can see still has the original turbo, no lateral shaft play but has about 4-5mm of play in and out which to me seems like a worn thrust bearing from years (100-150k kms?) of turbo flutter running no bov, so maybe there is some truth to it in the long run. But that'll never stop me loving the Stutututu while I have the car.   OP just wants to know if he can run a atmo vented BOV with no major issues and the answer is YES, plenty of people do it, there's no harm in installing it and seeing how it runs before spending $$$ on an aftermarket ecu, last time I bought a Nistune it was $2400 for install and a tune , unsure of todays prices but you get me. Crazy money to spend just to fix the minor inconvenience of stalling that can be overcome by letting the revs come down to near idle before putting the clutch in or a little bit of throttle to avoid it. You're better off leaving the ecu and tune for after a bigger turbo/injectors have been installed to take full advantage of the tune and get your moneys worth.   Let OP have his Whoosh sound without trying to break his bank haha
    • I see you missed the rest of the conversation where they have benefits, but nothing to do with avoiding breaking turbos, which is what the aftermarket BOV made all the fan boys, tuners, and modders believe was the only purpose for them...
