hey y'all

just wondering who has a HKS super dragger, or just dragger? don't know exact model name, on their R34?

I would very much like some pictures as i think it's type of look that i'm after (need catback, have all other 3" exhaust parts)

are they droney? cop trouble?

and what's this JASMA business? something about certification?

cheers,

daniel

i think i found my exhaust

i don't know why... but i'm really picky about how an exhaust sits with the car... and that's exactly what i'm after. Parallel with the ground, and sit straight, not upwards, or sideways, a few kw difference for a really straight "through" one doesn't bother me.

So not too droney?

thanks again for the pics! still would like to see one on a R34 if anyone has one, and or their opinions on it... can't imagine it would be too different to a R33

i got one on my r33...problem with mine is it's way too low

well only the center muffler thing....it will be the lowest part on ur car....not very speed bump friendly if ur car is lowered but overall good exhaust...sounds really good and not too loud aswell

the super dragger is a pretty old exhaust i think...not sure if u can get it brand new

from the website, i think it's been discontinued. I'm not fussed on brand new, 2nd hand is fine... and if need be, i'll just get a custom one made to copy the design...

centre muffler? the thing more in the centre under the the car?

yea the middle thing....it scraps o most speed humps ..i hate hearing scraping

that the only downsize..even with stock wheels and stock springs sometimes it will scrap

i dont know y its soo low......i took it to an exhaust shop and they tried to raised the exhaust but it would touch the bottom of the car......also was gonna remove the center muffler but they reckon it would sound really bad

Its lower than my bodykit...way lower than the front bar

so IMO....its a really good flowing exhaust becasue its 3.5" but u goto have a high car it u dont wanna scrap but may be different from car to car...maybe just me...not sure

Although not on a skyline, I had one on my 180sx and I hated it. Sure it had a nice note but it was redicilously low scraping on anything and everything. Old school style system indeed.

Have the super dragger on my 33.. the middle part is very very low.. much lower than any other point on the car.

but ive only scraped it once..

Sounds good without been droney.. 3.5Inch cat back..

friend has a generic system 3inch and a cannon.. drones way more than mine

i'm guessing a R33 one wouldn't fit an R34? do you think it would be a lot of work to get one to fit??

looks like they have been discontinued... so it's second hand for me IF i can find one

    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
