I have started the front end conversion finally. Once complete I will do a "How to do step by step"

Process so far

Strip standard front and side skirts

Remove radiator, AC condensor, and all other parts fitted to radiator support

Remove radiator support

Fit fibreglass guards

Make custom bonnet hinge spacers

Mount bonnet hinges and bonnet and align bonnet and guards gaps

Fit front bar reo and headlights and align and fit front bar cover

Reshape inner guards/skirt behind radiator panel to suit r34 radiator support angle behind headlights

This is where I am up to. Need approx 1-2 more hours work fitting radiator support and one last trail fitment of the whole front. Once that is gone and perfect the radiator support panel can be welded in.

Then it will be just a respray of the full front and front doors, and put it all back together

More details and photo's to come, just need more time

silly question time - why the fibro guards? are they any different to the OEM steelies?

Looks good BTW

oh and ummm... theyre not... fibro....

However, should you choose to use fibro guards, please use a water-based paint when you get to that point - it's better for you AND the environment! :(

Hey DS; looking hot! Good to see all our goodies have played their part in your build!

Can't wait to see the final result!

Unfortunitly R34 GTT bonnet hinges are different to GTR and the R34 GTT bonnet catch is the same as the Stagea, so I had to buy genuine new GTR hinges and GTR bonnet catch

Still have not fitted the R34 brakes yet, but will do soon.

Where did u get those side skirts from???

They came with the car from JP

There genuine Dolphin as is the rear bar. front bar is M's Factory

Motovation Imports down the Gold Coast has the moulds for the dolphin kit

Grille sold to EAG4IT

He's got an S1 :P what would he need it for?

Front bar still availiable, needs minor repair $300

My 40th coming up this weekend - I'll ask my good wife, she's feeling pleasant towards me atm.

    • Hi...a little refresh. Is Nistune gonna be enough to run BoV? Or do i need some proper ECU?
    • Yep that's pretty much what I want to see. Racecars that look and sound like the Group A but with newer tech underneath to make them faster and safer. I'm sure there's enough VK-to-VN commodore, E30 BMWs and Foxbody mustangs shells around to make up a decent number of cars with hopefully a couple of sierras, rx7 and R31s in there too.
    • Contact Jessestreeter.com/Skevas Racing/JustJap for a new r34 rb gearbox or go a cd00# conversion. No point playing with unknown condition gearboxes.
    • Such a shame places like Amaroo Park have been redeveloped, smaller tracks always make for good racing. Cheers for sharing @PranK there's some good Lakeside video's too. Its so hard with older the cars as parts are so rare and everything was made for a particular chassis at that point in time. Even the V8 Supercar Blueprint era cars are all different between each chassis within a team as they learnt things and made improvements. The COTF cars between each Chassis builder is different too especially motor/oil systems/intakes. The Group A stuff is worth so much too especially chassis with good history. The only way to do it would be composite panels and similar engine drivelines to the original cars. Ford sierra running Focus RS driveline, Commodore running a short stroke LS/LT or a Falcon with coyote and a H Pattern dog box. Could use a standard ecu across all models with a Torque Map and DBW for parity which is not even used in Supercars currently. Hell a TCM is almost a full chassis car these days and the suspension is not even close to standard style in the front running cars.
