Anyway, the rwd class looks like its going to be a hoot next year >_< and good work NickR33 punching out a PB. To the best of my knowledge thats the quickets street tyre time for a Skyline/Silvia etc

The RWD class should be a blast next year, can't wait! Everytime I go to the track and I'm not driving I die a little on the inside...

The new engine should be starting to get put together soon enough :P

But I think I'm going to need some bigger brakes... >_<

Ps Dont worry Ferni, tEh GT-r cAn NeVAr LoOSe! I'm gonna have to get some tacks that drop from the rear of the car Bond-style to stop you guys!

Dont worry, whilst they are going fast we can...um always drink. You can find solace in the bottom of that bottle. You just have to be willing to look in the bottom of a few of them if you dont find it in the first:)

And new SAU Stubbie Holders in the works. So far there is only 3 R33 GTRs and an R34 GTR that get one :P

ok, here's my plan:

1. You drink your way through 4 bottles of Whiskey

2. Give me the empty bottles

3. Hit unsuspecting cheaters over the head with said bottles

4. Happy dance and GT-R's for us

What do ya say?

My dad gave me some great advice. He sat me down and said...

"Troy, you're not the greatest mind going around. Your only chance is to know smart ppl and ride on the back of their success"

...and you know what Dane, that is a great idea. Im pretty sure Diminished Capacity is still a credible defence in court :yucky:

Hey, worst case scenario we plead temporary insanity when the times go up, they'll understand. If they don't, well, drink another bottle and we'll hit them aswell.

Jesus Dane. You have some seriously violent tendencies...you need to have a long hard look at yourself, odds are you will only realise that you are right and they are wrong. I keep telling my therapist she is off the reservation and needs help. I think its pent up sexual frustration, i think she wants to sleep with me :)

Ferni, Nah, got that sorted as well. There is going to be some others for us normal ppl as well so that we can enjoy a coldie over xmas.

Question is who wants a long neck holder

Yeah, I have to keep up this violent facade, how else am I going to prove insanity?? Slapping yourself in the face only works so many times... perhaps I shall run around in circles screaming 'whoop whoop whooooooooop' to strengthen my case.

Geez didn't know going fast gives you celebrity status around here!!!! :)

Problem is I have big shoes to fill now, the pressure is on to go fast at every other track... uumm would you believe me if I said it was a fluke that I 'did a teen at Sandown'??? :O

FINER6 - even though the stig looks like his doing it with ease, the helmet doesn't show the true emotion of going that fast... ;)

Not the point Stig. You went out there the week after you were kicked badly in the balls. You had fun and you happened to improve massively on your PB. You only ever hope to go quicker then you did last time. But thats not always possible. Anyone that has done a few days knows its hard to always go quicker. Those that have done plenty know its enough to have not broken somethin on the car

can someone tell me what the kick in the balls was all about there, stiggy boy?

Basically I did 1 flying lap for the day, spark plug tip decided to break off and have a party with the piston...

All fixed now... :)

Congrats Jack, thats bloody quick!..!

Nick, well done! are you running semi's next year?? Juzz is keen to stay on streets, and im thinking bout it.. need more rwds on streets if its to be a good competition :P

Nick was running Aziens (215 fronts and 615 rears I believe) which count as streets - just. They are by far the best street tyres you can get that aren't a full R Comp.

They last a long longer and are only slightly slower than R comps. They are a great comprimise tyre. Toyo make a similar tyre in the R1R's as well.

yep Azenis are the goods... I really like them and if I can afford to keep running them I will... I use them daily on the street as well so they get plenty of use but have stood up pretty well so far

haha so I will be the cheater in the 'standard rwd' class... except Bel and Juz you have lighter cars... I need more grip to stop the whale flying off the track into the tirewall due to its immense girth... or something

You'd be better off running RE55s as a daily driver tyre. They wear at about the same rate and are worth 2 seconds minimum per lap over the Azenis..

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
