Sorry my reply was a little sharp. Not ment to be sharp, but the pure logists of a GROUP this large is difficult. This was shown by the "BRAVEHEART" run the other weekend, which had a POLICE escort and a bunch of VERY well behaved owners, driving along a straight motorway. I am sure COL and his band have a plan. UHF radios only keep us on the same path, it would great if at our destination we had an awesome arrival of 100+ Skylines in a single file, for all to see what model citizens we are. Hoon factor ZERO.

last year we had 2 or 3 stop of points to allow teh group to re group. also every car had a a4 bit of paper with directions and insturctions with street names etc etv that you needed to know incase of falling behind.

Yeah dude, its been done 2-3 times before without a problem. The only people who get lost are the ones that dont listen and dont follow the map. Even then its pretty bloody hard if your just following everyone else. These things are organised with knowledge of the potential numbers. Like we wouldnt go along a road with 200 traffic lights etc.

I am with Max, through the previous experience, it was difficult to even keep less than 20 cars together. But I have to point out that the main reason was the group leader never look back and wait for the whole team. Hopefully this giant event can turn out to be a great cruise!

BTW, not everyone has a uhf radio, maybe someone can borrow me one?......

Its been done berfore.

its actually easier to keep 70+ cars on the one track than 20.

If the 70 or so cars get split up into 2 or 3 smaller groups there are more people in each group, therfore a greater chance someone will know the way.

Muds tips for staying together -

Bring your UHF, keep chatter on the main channel to a minimum, familiarize yourself to the voice of the person giving directions closest in front of you. (if you dont have a UHF now is the time to buy one)

Read the map that will be handed out BEFORE we leave and get a gist for where we are heading.

A huge froup like this will move quite slowly, stick withthe car infront, but don't tail gaite. People who tailgate are likely to get punched in the face.

Keep an eye on the car BEHIND you. If it falls behind slow down to let it catch up. The car in front of you should then slow down etc..

If a gap in the line occurs, and you dont have a UHF, and you can't follow the map and you aren't 100% of the way pull over and WAVE the next car by so they can lead.

Keep your stereo turned down.

Leave any idiot mates at home.

Just to allay some fears, the route will be clearly marked on the map supplied on the day and there will be at least 2 catch-up points on the way. These also allow some great photo opportunities. But the UHF will be the saviour of most so do your best to get one for the day. Some people have two of the little cheap units and may offer to loan them to others or even "rent" them out with proceeds going to the Charity???

I should be attending. My car goes in for a full forged engine rebuild today and im told it will be at least a few weeks, so hopefully ill be there with bells on!
