In respect to my power run above,

can anyone shed some light

on what power and torque figures

are expected with the pfc?

Also, should i run an adjustable fuel regulator,

just to be sure it does not lean out in top-end?

Perhaps, a nismo f.p.r.

PS - no money for injectors atm. :P

Anyone?

you are better off saving $$$ for injectors and do the fuel system right the first time.

fpr's are just a cheap excuse for inadequate fuel system.

if this is on the RB25 look into a couple of sets of S15 injectors (440cc/min side feed), you can pick them up for $200-300 a set

Ill try hunting a set down today.

Judhement Day Today... :(

I put her on the dyno for a tune with the PFC

She made 238.2RWKW on 13 psi with some slight detonation up top

Knocked back some timing and ran her again safely on 13psi to make 237RWKW

with approx 590N.M torque in third gear close to redline

This was at 100% injector duty cycle and to add my little apex fmic

heated up really badly, inlet temperatures were quite hot.

So next modes coming are probably a garrett fmic/hybrid and 444cc S15 injectors

Will post AFR, PSI and Flyhwheel torque graphs tommorrow, all sheets

have stock and new turbo side by side for comparison.

So all mods are as follows:

HKS dragger + 3" frontpipe

Apex FMIC (300 by 150 by 40)

Im guessing I have a bigger fuel pump :D

Apexi Power FC

Garrett GT3071R (Integrally Gated)

Stock: injectors, fpr & dump-pipe

Previously:

I was running an SAF-C SII and stock turbo

and made 211RWKW on 14psi

PS - She F*&%$KKKKKIN' PULLS IN THIRD :sorcerer:

Its Calder parks final drag racing meet for the year this Friday the 15th

If you compete in it, as a Christmas gift you get to enter again in January

next year for FREE.

So ill be there...trying my best with my worn tyres :P

But in January ill be back with M/T semi slicks ;)

Will post up time slips when I get a chance.

Its tomorrow... Wheres the dyno sheet. :O

What Ign timing are you running up top where you were experiencing det?

Drop the afr's a touch 11.5:1, push more boost in and start pulling that timing back until she begins to make less power.

No, not a typo.

I guess ill have to wait and see.

Created Motorsports white drift R33 had this set-up

but with a t25/28 flange and 0.82 ex a/r

and he made 269rwkw with a significantly linear power curve.

I was under the impression that it was hi-flowed to around 82, reason being the rear housing is being changed to a new garret style internally gated 35R something like a 3582 (or thereabouts, new from garrett aparently), car has been running dramas suspect actuator and its rear housing was too inefficient for its application.

Having said that it was a verry respoisive turbo.

You should have fun with your setup, but i think it could be a little too restrictive if your chasing over 280 at the wheels easily with a standard engine.....It seems more suited to a RB20 the more i look at it, although the response would be a pig.

my 2cents

PSI Graph

Starts boosting at approx. 3100rpm and reaches

full boost at say 3950rpm

Stock turbo starts boosting

at 2850rpm at reaches full boost by 3000rpm

Tractive Torgue Graph in 4th Gear

Peak torque transferred to the rear wheels

in 4th gear is approx. 460N.m at 127kph

Has heaps more mid range and pulls hard to redline.

(Damn should of asked for Torque vs. RPM)

Not sure when it occured but

its possibly somewhere beyond 5500rpm.

It needs more boost to pump up that mid range some more. :)

None the less a nice power increase considering boost is essentially the same.

Thanks Cubes, shes got more in her...ill

have to wait and see with bigger injectors

and a cooler. :)

Cheers,

Bill

Thread revival FTW :)

Have you developed this thing any further Bill?

I haven't I'm afraid and it brings a tear to my eye.

I sold the turbo kit to another dude on this forum.

I hope to find out one day how he went with this set-up.

I'll be back on this forum soon when I get back in my

garage and stir some horsepower up! lol :D

Sorry for the long awaited reply! :D

    • Thank you GTSBoy and MBS206 I have done the compression test with the motor out of the vehicle, reason for the test was to see if I needed to remove the head and do rings etc while its out. I'm in the process of respraying the vehicle and tidying up a few things. Story behind it all is I've just purchased the skyline and it was running when I got it, never drove it on the street though as I wanted to pull it down and do it all up again before registering it. the gentleman I purchased it from told me the motor has a forged bottom end and has a decent tune through it but I was going to pull the sump off anyway to see if it is a forged bottom end. that's why I thought id do a compression test beforehand.
    • Man, I'm kind of amazed that the price of the turbo has not changed in 7 years. Everything else is inflating beyond reason, but not this? Good on Tao / hypergear I guess? Anyways, good luck with the sale!
    • I'm selling my brand new, in the box, never used Hypergear ATR45 - and I had some additions I paid for a few yrs back when I purchased it. Never ended up having the rest of the money to add all the mods at once, so I just ended up slowly selling each part. I originally had it internally gated, with the dump pipe, however I found it was incompatible with what I was going to use it for, so I contacted (I think Ken) from Hypergear, and he and I messaged back and forth & he got me to ship the turbo back, where they modified it & made it externally gated, and gave me the 5 bolt dump pipe attachment for custom welding. (Photos below) This turbo like I said has never touched the inside of an engine bay, it's completely brand new, never used, been sitting in the same box it arrived in, covered in plastic & all. Below are the photos of it: And while the guys at Hypergear were making it in-shop, they sent me some photos of the process: I'm looking at selling this just because I'm in need of the money right now, and don't have plans on modifying the 34 anytime soon - and from reviews & peformance sheets, this turbo had amazing results back when I was researching. The turbo was purchased in 2018 for $1.9k, with the mods I got added on. Looking at the website now, for the same turbo they sell (ATR45SAT), with the current addons it adds up to $1830 for the turbo Current addons included: - Bolted dump adaptor - Ball bearing CHRA - Braided oil feeding line So I'm looking to possibly sell it for around $1800, with shipping included in that 1.8k, It cost me around $120 to ship - so yeah thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone was interested in purchasing. Cheers!
