Very nice - actually thought it might make a little more, but that is still very healthy and should have a wicked power delivery! Look forward to reports on how it drives :)

It will be great fun to drive. Hopefully Disco has time to drive by my work on the way back home.

The instant response of the GT-RS is what makes it a fun streeter, with a bit more top end it should be even better on open roads like Bells Line.

Has anyone done a comparison of the 3076R 0.82 against a Precision 5558 0.63 which is what I run now. I was torn between these two turbos and Yavuz from Unigroup told me they are more or less identical on RB25s but that the Precision does start to shine more on high boost which is what their strength is. The power delivery from the 0.63 5558 is also snappy when it comes on and not smooth /boring, that is what I wanted so I am happy.

Saying that if I had to do a street RB25 again I would go the 'peoples choice' which is the 3076R 0.82 just to try it out and knowing it is a winner.

You know mine and Kurtis's are a good comparison, he makes a few KW more with 3psi more boost but both cars are amazing to drive everywhere in the rev range and are setup very similar.

Well I'd say Scott found the limits of the GTRS and it sounds like a good result from the littlish fella .

My ask was firstly this has to be a nice car to drive as in drivability start up consumption etc . I left it up to him how much boost to run and that turned out to be 18 pounds . Not sure what brand dyno Insight use .

Anyway I'll find out what it drives like later in the day when I pick it up . Andrew not sure if I can get to you today because as you know its a bit away from my district and not the place to hang about for the afternoon peak hour - or four . May be able to meet at that place on the weekend ?

So as to not be off this threads topic the 52T GT30R is still a possibility and I do remember reading here that someone went from a GTRS to a 52T GT3076R and had virtually no lag penalty . As mentioned Mr Mafia got over 300 wasps from his 3076R and that , like a GTRS , was wearing the small or 0.63 AR IW turbine housing . Beating the heat seems to be the big issue and it sounds like E70/E85 or in Mr Mafias case water methanol injection is doing just that .

It's a RB25 with a GT3076R-HTA (essentially a HTA-spec 52trim GT3076R) and will be tuned on E85 - would make for interesting comparison with the PT and Garrett turbos.

I really wanted to go that path as i have heard nothing but good things.... Will keep an eye on it too!

Yep FPs done a lot with those HTA conversions . David Buschur really like that one a screwed a lot of Hp and torque out of an Evo engine with one . As mentioned before note that these use the next family up (T04S) compressor housing and provided you can push significantly higher boost than most here do they make good numbers . Easily the sorts of numbers people though quite reasonable from a conventional GT3582R in recent years .

I now find myself really hoping I'm right in regards to the match to an RB25, and very much looking forward to BRI73Y's results :)

Me too, will watch closely.... Mostly just for interest as it should be a good mix!

I've always wanted a 52 trim GT3076 with something like a .73 housing. Would be good for around 280rwkw (on an Aussie dyno).

Then again a HKS GT2835 would be fantastic too - just stupidly pricey and needing a fancy dump pipe.

It will be great fun to drive. Hopefully Disco has time to drive by my work on the way back home.

Looking at those graphs, the GT-RS looks very dissapointing in comparison to the gt30, even my gtx on 16psi and 98 matches it all over the graph, difference being i have external gate, just goes to show the big turbo's can pretty much match a GT-RS down low ( on the dyno anyway) but blow it away with some more boost.

The ProS needs a slightly bigger throttle opening to get the car to move so despite dyno printouts looking similar down low they feel very different on the road. Once the roads open up the ProS has more legs and is fantastic particularly 80-110km/h when overtaking.

The GT3040 and GT3076 feel like slightly larger framed turbos and are not as responsive in traffic but have a whole lot more to give once they come on boost. The much maligned GT3040 is very close in performance to the new TS GT3076 with a few hundred rpm difference in boost threshold which could be due to tuning as much as compressor size or TS turbine housing. IMO the GT3040 is a budget GTX3076 and all it needs is someone to use E70-85 to prove it but no one has done it yet. Given the cost vs gain I wish I had stuck with my GT3040 although the GT3076 is a better thing it just wasn't worth the coin changing over.

Scott reckons he likes one of the GT3071Rs - possibly the GTX one can't remember .

I also agree its a great pity Garrett or HKS never made GT30 turbine housings in 0.73 AR with T3 flanges . T25 flanged HKS ones work well but not much good to us .

I think with some mild head work and cams just about any GT30 based turbo should get close to or over 300 Kw on E70 or E85 .

About my bus , it was set up with the Tech Edge WB input rather than the OE probe and we both think that may not have been way to go . Scott reckons the std probe would be more accurate around stoi and my Tech Edges probe is a little out compared to his NTK wide band - by about 0.2 lambda .

He wants me to come back after a few tank fulls of E70 to be certain all the United E85 and Ultimate is out of the system . He set it a smidge rich just keep it safe until then .

I think he prefers the Injector Dynamics EV14 injectors and said he could get closer to ideal idle and cruise AFRs with them .

ATM I don't know the Vipec software and he said he'd load it for me next time with his "template" of what goes where because there is a large range of gauge etc options with them .

I'd like to see the actual tables so I know what the numbers are like . I got to like my last PFC maps and I was finally getting real good part throttle torque and consumption .

got one to sell? based on prior feedback apparently these work better on SR's than 3076's do.

wouldnt mind testing that theory if priced right!

Run in tune done last night. FP HTA 3076 - RB25

Was completed at 10:30pm so not a lot of time spent on getting it perfect.

Good enough to turn some k's before going back for final tune later next week.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year. 
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
