Yeah Jess, caught 5 salmon tonight, one biggie too! Still would rather be in the warmth of my own bed though

Wow, Go heslo!!!

But I know what you mean nothing beats your own bed

So are you out of town down there, must be a nice place that your working on if worth that much??

Shit yeah it's a nice place, wouldn't live down here if you paid me however, just a nice place to come for a few days then leave. That being said, I'm sure a lot of people would say the opposite to me but I'm a city guy. Can't do any Villis runs from up here :)

Yeah it's a fair way out :O

Nice to relax and that but always nice to go back home and back to civilisation

Bullsh!t........ Can't your car drive quick enough to get here in reasonable time........

LOL

It can, but she's not with me up here, the girlfriend has it back in Adelaide and is driving it around; bad idea I know :P

Go Heslo!!

Im sure it will be fine :)

Ouch lol.....best wishes for it bein in one piece....waiting for the flamage from all the girls out there lol

FLAME!!!!! :P

LOL

query:

had car tuned at Boostworx. cant boost past 14psi as the rear muffler is creating a huge restriction, backpressure etc

Umm, can that lead to detonation? ie too much backpressure / not enough exhaust gasses getting out / leading to detonation (pinging) in the higher rpm area's of 1st/2nd/3rd gears ?

its pinging :)

^^^^

I got a PM about my wanted post.

But it didn't write that.

I just did a joke post saying

WANTED

Item - Love

Price - Free or best offer

Contact - PM me

Just for a bit of a laugh, but someone else modded it to say "anal love" instead of just plain "love"

cubes is on the case to find out, i want swift justice!!!

lol, nice cover up kralster.

anyways, finished work this morning, and went to sinergy out of sheer boredom.

test drove a couple cars, a 1994 32 GTR, stock aside from coilovers and catback, and in mint condition, 40 odd thou k's.

and a '98 34 GTt, weds 18's, uprated shocks and springs, catback system, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun with the traction off.

if common sense hadnt kicked in, i probably woulda driven home in one of em... :(

3" magnaflow or similar should fix it all up for you :( not sure what price tho - may be able to find something 2nd hand in good condition?

so you reckon a big restriction CAN cause detonation in the higher rpm areas?

been really worrying me.

care to share your thoughts on this? Im only thinking its pinging as it sounds like a tinfull of nuts/coins at high rpm (+5000rpm), like something is loose but I highly doubt that. sat bolt upright in bed on sunday night with the thought that its most likely the sound of dreaded pinging.

yeah, just paid a SAU member $65 for a Kakimoto 3inch exhaust, delivered from WA. was going to go for a Magnaflow, can get a new one for $160 fitted but the wallett is too damned tight atm.

Can you tell me how much the GTR was and what colour???

I didn't get an offer at ALL!!!

Awww poor Krastler

i dont think a restricting exhaust will cause pinging but wrong AFR will or also bad fuel

mine pings like yours @ high RPM 3rd and 4th ive goto change fuel pumps see if that helps

i would of said stagea turbo is like the R33 dont go over 14psi or you'll blow the wheels out of it there only ceramic (**just remembered you have high flow**)

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
