Fishpaste: You car looked mighty fine Friday night, not sure what needs tidying up?

SO: Being a wasteland and a place for general chat, how old are people on here? On the cruise on friday night I was feeling a little old considering my cousin who is 8 years younger than me was there and most ppl seemed his age LOL

Im 26, 27 in 2 months. What's others ages?

there few scratches and marks in the paint work.. im super fussy, particually the rear left =(

im 25, but its all good =) we just need to teach these young wipper snappers whats what =P

Just as I thought, many a whipper snapper!

except for Madaz

Look forward to meeting more ppl next cruise though, was a bit dark at the start of Friday Nights to try to see/meet anyone and I had to leave from Barker.

22 here.

It's amazing how young people (myself included) have fancy cars nowadays. My dad was telling his first car was 1950 morris something mobile. And he was like 20 when he got it. So it was older than him.

By 19 i had a r34. And now have a motorcycle.

In other news a girl i dated for a short while about 4 years ago rang me yesterday wanting to catch up before she moves interstate. Initially i said yes then realised what the hell i was getting myself into. And promptly told her i was unable to see her this weekend.

car is sooooooo awsome!!! i love being a skyline owner!!!!! such awsome looking cars, and get a massive smile everytime i drive the thing (nothing quite like the feeling of boost, amiright?? =P)

the stairs you get when you pull into petrol stations... they are priceless =)

but it needs a bit of work i thinks, brakes need changing, and there is a bit of fixing up needed on the body work. want to get that fixed up first. also want to do a complete fluid change over, i think its making a slight tapping sound? and dad thinks there is a sound like a wheel bearing playing up as well... oh and suspension, its just BAD!! super hard, even brand new aussie roads are like giant pot holes for me... will get SK to hook me up at some point in time

lots to do, lots of money needed, but soooo worth it!!!

havent got the hang of driving it yet, partly because its manual, partly because its 1000000000000000000000000000000000 times better than my 91 camry =P (and i dont drive it all that often)

Yeah I get a massive smile when I drive mine aswell :P

Mine needs work aswell but these cars are going on nearly 17yrs old so has to be expected....Im upgrading brakes to Brembos and she needs a respray and I want to go white I reckon and I am going to get blistein suspension all the way round...

I have my first track day coming up aswell in July so should be awesome to see how the cars goes and how I go also lol

siff take the fuse out :) i dont have that luxury

Sif not take fuse out.....I know R33 should of had that option

I'm 26 and I feel very old in Sydney as most under 25 that come out on the cruises but more of a older generation for track days and motorkhana's but it all pans out in the end

Go the tripple post :)

what you doing with you old brakes :P you can send them my way ill pay shipping :P

Yeah I get a massive smile when I drive mine aswell :P

Ages are starting to even out. I guess its the "Friday Night Crowd" that is the youngans LOL.

I'm very interested in this sunday cruise Paully made mention of.

For Sunday cruises my wife will usually come along too, she hates being out late on friday nights just sitting in the car, although she usually looks for other lass's to talk to. So begs the next Q: Am I one of a few Married ppl on here too? Or even in long term relationships?

Just trying to get to know the ppl I chat too :)

Well I'm 25 for what its worth...

Have owned 2 silvias, (1st one n/a, 2nd one turbo - almost identical otherwise) and now I have a stagea :bunny:

I miss the silvia for its nimbleness and handling but the stagea is way nicer to drive (ie. LOTS more comfortable).

Cant say which is faster between my modified silvia turbo (133rwkw) and the stagea (~180rwkw equivalent).

Hoping to get a r33 s2 skyline within the next couple years as my drive-to-work car (stagea is too heavy for daily runaround, and yet too practical to sell).

Its weird, I always like the r34 shape better, but having seen some stock r33's and 34's up close, I actually would now prefer a 33 (s2). Not trying to start a flamewar lol, but just saying that I'd prefer a stock 33 to a stock 34, based on looks alone. And with everything else factored in, I'd have a nicer and faster car for the same money if I go with a 33 :) Thats pretty much the way I'm leaning at the moment - wont happen for a good while yet tho...

    • Jack the back of the car up, pull that wheel off, pull that sensor out, and put a bore scope into the hole to inspect the outer casing, see if anything looks damaged before you pull the whole thing apart.
    • Ergh... So I pulled the speed sensor out again and the tip was shiny so I think it's rubbing the bearing. The bearing contains the magnets for the speed sensor so I think when the first sensor broke it damaged the magnet ring on the bearing.  This is just a Google image, but there is a hole going to the bearing. So when the tip broke off the old sensor I'm guessing it fouled the bearing... As the magnet is only protected by a plastic cover it would be easy to damage it. So I guess I'm doing a bearing again.
    • My thinking is that if the O2 sensor is shot then your entire above described experience is pure placebo.
    • Here is the mess that I made. That filler there was successful in filling dents in that area. But in the middle area. I can feel dents. And I've gone ocer it multiple times with filler. And the filler is no longer there because i accidently sanded it away. I've chased my tail on this job but this is something else lol. So I'm gonna attempt filler one more time and if it doesn't work I'll just high fill primer the door and see where the issues are because guidecoat is of no use atm.
    • Ok, so I think I sort of figured out where I went wrong. So I definitely overthinked it, and I over sanded, which is probably a large part of the problem. to fix it, I ended up tapping some spots that were likely to be high, made them low, filled them in, and I tackled small sections at a time, and it feels a lot better.    I think what confused me as well is you have the bare metal, and some spots darker and some are lighter, and when I run my finger across it, it' would feel like it's a low spot, but I think it's just a transition in different texture from metal to body filler.    When your finger's sliding on the body filler, and crosses over to the bare metal, going back and forth, it feels like it's a low spot. So I kept putting filler there and sanding, but I think it was just a transition in texture, nothing to do with the low or high spot. But the panel's feels a lot better, and I'm just going to end up priming it, and then I'll block it after with guide coat.   Ended up wasting just about all of my filler on this damn door lol
