woah!

share? lol

HAHAHAHAHHA

Bad news tho the 24-105LIS has a faulty auto focus... Damn it...

Someone has returned it to the stock cage and not said anything...

Why share when you can just give it to us.. we'll split it

Looks good.. what's the plan with it Col?

The plan is to use it tomorrow at the members Janurary cruise up to the spotted cow for yabbie races...

lol, just realised this thread was about a 400D. I bought one after the release last year. had it for a few months now and love it. it's a nice camera for the price.

so far I just have:

400D (black of course!)

genuine canon case

canon RC1 remote

17-55 USM canon EF-S lens

55-200 USM canon EF lens

canon lens hood

nice velbon tripod

2 X 1gb sandisk Ultra III cards

actually as I bought mine in japan it's called a Kiss X lol. anyway nice present! you have some nice folks/friends/gf/bf/something!

so Col, being a canon man and all how about a hook up on a nice wide angle lense! :) :) :(

So my position with Canon is as an account manager for retailers...

I cannot sell you anything directlly, I can only deal with accounts over $100,000 per annum...

ie. Harvey Norman, Good Guys, Camera House, WOW, Bing Lee, Myer, Bentleys, Clive Peeters you get the picture...

But speaking of wide angle I have a 10-22mm, they are good value for money and do an awsome job.

I like to call it a reality lens for agents and the like... (you know make rooms look bigger than they really are)

lol, that's ok mate. I was only kidding! Wouldn't expect any favours. it's your job afterall!.

thanks for the tip on the lens. 10-22mm sounds good. it would be handy for me. often at places like tokyo autosalon etc. you have to get close, otherwise people just walk in front of you making it impossible to get a clean shot. and without a wide angle lens it's hard to get all of the subject in frame. I will suss one out.

BTW, love the canon product. they have excellent image processors. must be very good software in them. even my old S50 had a very good processor in it. I've had kodak, casio, pentax, sony but always liked my canons the best. they are the easiest to get a decent photo out of without any effort. and with some effort you can get great photos. lots of other cameras I've had need plenty of effort just to get anything decent.

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I highly rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.
    • Remember, take original quote. Double it. Then add a bit more. It's how any project goes.
    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
