hey, just another question. my 33 has a gtr wing (the one with the adjustable tilt and l.e.d. stop light)

i hate it and want a drift wing.

do these things sell pretty easy or does everyone else hate em too?

how much would you expect to pay for the gtr wing second hand?

also im wanting to get rid of my enki race rims. the tyres are 235/45/17's on the front and 245/45/17's on the rear. any idea what they would be worth?

any help would be rad!

most people luv the gtr wing i think - depends on the person. Personally wouldnt put one on my car as it looks oddly out of place for me. But you will get a bit of interest for it....not sure ont he price though - im guessing 300 - 400???? (anyone care to correct that guess?)

yeah i think mine is a different boot lid to the standard series 2

it has more holes and they look standard. im wondering if the boot and wing are off one of those 40th aniversary 33's?

the wing was a prick to get off! took hours but i didnt wanna damage the wing?

haha. i didn't even bother trying to get the wing off. the guy i bought it off sait he has snapped them trying to get them off in the past.

so i jsut gave the whole wing + bootlid to the painter.

i wonder if he has got it off yet.

oh i want the plain end plates. my one has some dodgy nismo carbon fibre like sticker thinks on the end? its alright... if they were put on evenly.

I have been researching the 40th anniversary a fair bit as I am about to buy one however it has a standard series 2 wing. According to FAST the car came with "Trunk Lid Rim + Type M 40th Anniversary". Does anyone have any more pictures of what a 40th anniversary wing looks like??

Oh BTW Sik14 I could quite possibly be interested in buying the wing off you, PM me if you still want to sell it.

The optional 40th aniversary wing is just a gtr wing. Most of the 40th aniversary's (including mine) just have the standard series 2 wing.

I don't want to hijack your thread but here is a basic run down, there is more information on the forums:

1. Badge on the seat

2. Badge on C pillar

3. Debate as to whether Nissan used NEO spec engine parts

4. GTR spoiler was an option

5. Different front bar also being a factory option

6. Front and rear strut braces with Nissan logo

7. Factory Momo with airbag as an option

8. Made in 1998

9. Additional colour codes, e.g. Midnight Purple

i think the previous owner of my car raided a 40th anniversary 33 cos i have the factory gtr wing. its fitted like a stock wing not an aftermarket 1. and i have the genuine nissan badged front and rear strut braces.

Some 40th aniversary's were also made in the last months of 1997, and yes it does use some r34 engine parts such as the CAS (crank angle sensor, or cam angle sensor whatever you want to call it) so upgrading cams could become difficult, tomei poncams for the r33 gts25t (non 40th aniversary) wont fit the 40th aniversary as the cams use a different key compared to the normall r33 cams, hence why it uses a r34 CAS.there was a thread about it a while ago were some guys poncams wouldnt fit his rb25det because it was a 40th anv model.

Hehe sorry to hijack your thread :D

A 40th Anniversary with full options was known as the GTS25t Type-MR (not to be confused with the 280 Type-MR which had the Reinik 2.8litre engine). I have seen the catalog for it when it was released and basically it comes with what looks like a GTR kit from the factory although these were all options and most 40th anniversary buyers chose the cheaper S2 look.

Heres what a fully optioned one looks like:

R33_GTS25t_1998_Type_MR_1.jpg

R33_GTS25t_1998_Type_MR_2.jpg

Theres at least a couple of these with full options in Australia as I've seen one on a cruise a couple of times.

I personally would not sell the wing as when you resell the car the factory items can only add value.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
