Hi guy's

the below dyno sheet is my car with r34 N1 turbo's is this how they are supposed to respond i do have the bigger N1's turbos C106/GT25 A/R 0.60/0.64. but it just doesn't seem like it's that responsive compared to other people's dyno sheets, with what i would assume are bigger turbo's. it seems to be much laggier than the gt-ss or could the laginess be caused by something else??

and what power are other people making with this turbo I'VE DONE THE SEARCH but have not found any dyno results for the 0.60/0.64 N1's as i am chasing about 350rwkw

the mods on the car are

ACL Forged Pistons

ACL Piston Rings

ACL Big End Bearings

ACL Main Bearings

Ported and polished head

Stock polished crank and rods

Bored and honed Block

N1 Oil pump

N1 Water pump

Tomei Oil Gallery restrictor

Gates timing belt

New engine gaskets all round

New Thermostat

New NGK spark plugs

R34 GTR injectors

R34N1 turbos C106/GT25 A/R 0.60/0.64

New Rod bolts, welsh plugs

Fresh paint on rocker covers

3" Trust Front pipe and Power Extreme II Cat back Exhaust

3" Metal cat

Twin Apexi Pods

Apexi Power FC & Hand Controller

Greddy Profec B Spec II boost controller

Nismo fuel pump

still to come

Cam gears

injectors

That is 247@ all 4 wheels on 14psi.

r34 injectors - get some decent ones in there, 600-700cc's

do you have cams? cam gears? how much porting was done to the head?

also it's a bit on the rich side. lean em back to 12:1

no question of a dodgey tuner at CRD either :D

also how old is the motor?

yea that's true but are they supposed to be this laggy

without cam gears. yes.

Its hard to say "are they meant to be this laggy" especially when 999 people out of 1000 have installed cam gears along with upgraded turbos

mines about the same 3000 before any real boost starts to happen and i am using the 2860-5.

Cam gears did make the difference though.

when i say 3000rpm that's when it starts making positive boost (like 1psi or less) on my boost controller and then full boost which is 14psi at over 4500rpm

to be honest i have a 180sx which makes at the moment under 200 rwkw and feels alot faster than this gtr there's no real surge of acceleration when on full boost it's seems like it's very liner power which is strange looking at the dyno sheet

the car was dynoed with 16inch rims 225 wide does anyone know how to convert that to rpm??

the motor is about 9 months old and i am going to get cam gears but before i install them i just want to make sure that everything else is ok.

i bought the car about 2 months ago and it came with that dyno read out so i just want to see if anyone else that has these turbos is getting the same response as me

firstly they are " group A turbos " as they have a .60 comp housing and not a .42 which is the main visual differnce between them and the N1s, yes they going to be laggy as they are bigger turbos, cam gears will help alot, i personly got my turbos two come on full boost 500 rpm sooner from just fitting turn tuning cam gears on the track by feel and when i had the PFC fitted CRD tuned them more, also in the exhuarst did change the dump pipes as there good gains in boost responce form them too.

oh ok but they are the r34 group a turbo's right??

what hp are they rated at and what hp are you making???? and when do you see full boost and what psi is it??

Cheers

34 N1's come in two sizes :)

And to add to all this business about cam gears etc i dont have cam gears yet i have a very responsive machine!! Maybe its about time i invested!!!

now to add some more... i remember these fitted to a rather standard 34 vspec 2. he complaned about them bieng too lagy so they were swapped for the smaller N1 items.

i beleive there needs to be alot of supporting mods for the larger ones to be in their range. and a bit more boost

here's what you need to do:

get bigger injectors (440cc are just about run out with what you have now)

change AFMS to nismo or VG30s

get cams or cam gears or both

raise boost to 1.5bar

spend time tuning the boost controller for best response

so fit the cams/gears, injectors and afms. then take it back to your chosen tuner and have it re-tuned and the cam gears set-up.

post up your IGN and INJ map

just view on the hand controller and punch it into an excel spreadsheet

should take you 5 minutes

then we can see your maps and see how its tuned

will give away lots of info

    • What an awesome idea to fit the facelift Lamborghini Diablo headlights. They are a perfect fit!
    • An update regarding the registration with the DVLA I sent off the paperwork the day after I collected the car from the port, two weeks later it was all returned with a letter explaining they have rejected the application. This was because the cheque was £20 short for the road tax (I used a price list I found online). Nevermind it is what it is, it was sent back to them the following day with a new cheque. Fast forward another 2 weeks or so, I called them for an update to be told it had been rejected. Yesterday (16th September) I received the documents back along with another letter, this time it was because I didn't put an X in one box on the V750 (personalised number plate certificate), which declared that I had the rights to the personalised number plate. Why this wasn't mentioned in the first rejection letter, I don't know, but it could have saved this headache. The documents were sent back today, so fingers crossed third times a charm and it'll FINALLY be registered on the road just in time for the bad weather (woohoo!) To cheer myself up I lowered the front 25mm, was sick of seeing it sit like a monster truck. No idea how much clearance I'll have getting on and off the driveway, I'll worry about that when I can actually drive it
    • You're going to miss not worrying about rust in the strut towers like the Skyline shitboxes out there
    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
    • GT-R clearly the better choice! The 300 is certainly not insaly fast but has a decent amount of poke. Does a nice little drift around the corners with a decent amount of throttle. It's VERY predictable in a slide too.  Feels so progressive! People probably presume there's a 25 year old driving it based on my behaviour this week! 🤣
