i just got a carbon one. Dont glass ones warp and go rippley like some cheap bodykits do? Everytime ive seen a fibre glass one it has looked rippley to me. The carbon one has a PERFECT smooth finish, and you can paint it or leave it black.

How much do glass ones weigh? i havent weighed mine, but its hell light to pick up. Like ricknizmo, i like the look of the vents more than the weight saving.

The bonnets UAS sells are very well finished, and the vents do look cool.

INASNT: why the hell would you let someone sit on your bonnet regardless of wether its cabon or not!

some stupid **** might sit on your bonnet when its parked in a carpark or instance. If alot of people are standing around talking sometimes peoples brains go to sleep and they decide to take a rest and sit on your bonnet.

yeah got mine from UAS. They dont budge on price tho! A while back i offered to buy a full GTR kit and carbon bonnet, the works, was gonna spend around 3 grand cash, and they wouldnt give me even a little discount! i think that sucks, there is always room for discount esp with cash. "The price on the website is the price." the dude told me...

Carbon Fibre (CF) top lining with Fibre Glass (FG) bonnets are supposed to be cheaper. Try not to pay over 800 for one.

I sell those on Hondas for only 500 OEM and 550 vented :P

A full 100% 3K grade CF will set you back above 1K

Carbon Kevlar is different realms and is also above 1K

Attached is pictures of the end product of a Celica 00-02 and a nearly ending product of an EG 4 door vented bonnet.

Apart from being light, the vents "are supposed" to improve air circulation by allowing heat from the heads to dissipitate efficiently, therefore maybe explaining the use of vents for Evos. But dont quote me on that, as I have no credible sources for the info on vents.

don't either of them decapitate the driver and passenger because they don't fold properly like metal bonnets in accident?

Yeah cause the metal bonnets are designed to crumble. Therefore carbon fiber bonnets are not ARD compliant.

How about we get a few picks and put some Homer Simpson "speed holes" on the car?

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
