How much per litre Sub?

It does look to be the fuel of choice. Have you read the article on the MoTeC site: http://www.motec.com.au/fueltest/index.htm

I know a few track day guys who are switching to it.

Yeah interesting facts, some good info. I actually saw that episode on the testing and since then have been looking for it.

Finally found it thanks to my old man who found it by mistake.

Thats why i think its good to list other locations for people who have been looking for it.

The car runs alot better.

i got some of this at the shell on hawthorn rd, brisbane yesterday i was surprised to see they didnt have any normal premium in there, well not that i saw anyway. (didnt look to hard though) payed $1.44.9

Is that the first time you have used it, did you notice a difference.

hmmm i always favoured shell stuff (optimax prior to v power) cos that's what they use for the v8 supercars (shell makes them one big batch at the start of every season and they all draw from the same batch to keep things stable) or at least they used to.

so when i bought my skyline (all of about 3 months ago) i took it straight to shell and filled her up and she felt great. but then the second tank felt like shit. so i switched over to caltext vortex with mixed results.

maybe i'll give shell another go....

edit: are all v-power's 100 octane?? i think, but can't be sure that the one i used was 98??? Hungry Jacks over the highway from mudgeeraba on the goldy if anyone knows.

Today i payed $1.45L i think thats a fairly stable price as normal fuel was only $1.16L

yeah it is a bloody good fuel but i refuse to pay for them now...the price used to change as the pump price changes, but now because the market is so special, no matter how cheap the normal petrol is, the price for v power racing will be set at 145c per litre...rip off if you ask me..i can stay on V power untill the special occasion comes

to add the location,

Shell Albany Creek ( on the way to Mt Glorious :sorcerer: )

Shell on Coro Drvie neae Wesley Hospital

and yeah the fuel is great for my car been running on it for 3-4 months straight, only just came off to v power and already notice the diference..

the ethanol is good in a way, as it cleans everything in the engine as it gets passed through. Its almost as good as having water injection except its in the fuel. However because its partially made up by ethanol the fuel isnt as dense and it also burns leaner, so when being tuned it needs to be richened up abit in comparison to normal fuel. By all means you should get a little less economy from a tank because of this. However it does have a higher octane rating, so it sort of works itself out. Think of it like methanol, it burns lean and cold, thats why you need to squirt 2.2 times as much over std fuel. But the octane rating of it is astronomical.

Thats how i see how the ethanol helps, whether its right or not is beyond me.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
