Well Trackcorp have managed to put together a full CAMS L2S sprint weekend at Mt Panorama!

It is officially the worlds most expensive club sprint but is more based upon a full racing experience than a typical day at Winton.

There will be circuit orientation, driver training (headed up by Alex Davidson), non-timed practise followed by basically 1.5 days of sprints.

Costs are:

Pay before July 25th - $4,900.00

Pay before Oct 25th - $5,180.00

Pay before Nov 25th - $5,600.00

(As I said - worlds most expensive track day)

You need to have completed at least 8 club sprint days to be eligable and even then it will be an acceptance by application and invitation only.

Full details can be found at: http://www.drivebathurst.com/\

Cheers

Ah so thats just after the speed weekend (conrod sprint and hill climb)

I obviously wont be entering this event posted - but I'll be there on the saturday to check it out for sure!

Wish them all the best, if they make a success of it we may see it available more often.

Not for me for that price, but I'm sure they will find people with the cash to give it a shot.

BTW, almost on topic, both the saloon cars and production cars are racing at Bathurst next February at the 12 hour meet. If you have $5k spare you can probably buy a drive in one or the other instead

yeah exactly. the next historic race we are entering with the alfa costs $400 to enter....

I would love to do this. and would probably even shell out $500 or even $1000 to enter, but $5000 is taking the piss.

well I always had to pay damage bills, but I never did more than 8k damage in a single race :)

Bathurst 12 hour race entry was $6k, between 4 drivers that is $1500ea for 3 hours racing. Thats probably the best comparison to the supersprint price

lol i didn't really think if that.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, who was speaking about the cost of organizing a Bathurst event.

are they expecting 200 people?Usually TV coverage helps to draw bigger fields in. it will be interesting to see how popular it will be

ahh, ok, I just took a stab in the dark at 200 drivers. I would have thought 200 was manageable considering only half are doing the supersprint and half a doing the 'drive bathurst' event. but yeah, if it costs $450K and the max they can take it $540K then it will be pretty tight by the time they pay for all the extras.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
