By any chance you didn't lend it to Steve from AEM, when they were doing tests on your car and playing with the Wolf V5.

Just a thought.

Yeah I thought that this morning also. Sure enough I called them and yeah they did have it.....to bad it was butchered to make a loom adapter. Anyhoo they are going to buy me a new stock ECU.

On a separate note I asked them about the development for the 34 and looks like it's been dropped with no return to the project in sight at the moment. Marc isn't working at the office on Melrich Drive anymore so I'm not really sure what's going on. I know they had some big Subaru fly-by-wire project on. Meh.

That sucks!!

Any talk of re-embursment? After all they did have your car for an extended period.

I would chase them for an ecu, even if it is a R33 one, then you can sell it. I know someone that will be happy to buy it, at a reasonable price :(. They did promise you a ecu, just because plans have been altered, doesn't mean it is your problem.

I know they have a major headache, at the moment, as the manufacturer for the hand controller, they based the Wolf V5 round, has gone bust and shut down production.

Do you have another ecu to pass epa? Is Pete's the same?

Good luck with the EPA Adz, Nissans are way rich stock!

I could do with my stock ECU also as my modded one is still FOOBARed, but GAFFA has obviously found something better to do with it ..... other than return it to me...... grrrr.

Let us know how the test goes.

I miss my skyline, it is but a dirt collector now... ass end on stands.... discarded in favour of a 4.0l VQ 6 speed V40 Navara.

Yeah I'll be speaking to them when I go down, I had a contract written up. I'll push them for a 33 V500.

I'm gonna borrow Pete's yeah. Lucky huh!

Well let me know, i will be very interested :)

If they give you a ecu, make sure they also supply the adaptor loom.

Yeah just a "random inspection".

Al - I dug out the contract last night and I've filled my end of the deal regardless whether they finish the 34 ECU or not so I'm going to ask for the R33 model and loom. According to the contract I'm entitled to a "V500 Product" so I'll let you know as soon as I speak with them.

Danny - Cheers mate

Matt - Thanks, got Pete's.

Chinny - PM me your e-mail mate :D

Hey Adz, just out of Curiousity, where and when did you get pulled over?.. I was told about 5 weeks ago by a "friendly" coppa that I would be making an apperance at the EPA.. Still have not recieved a letter from them???. whats the deal?

did the Cop like me so much he let me go??.. or he couldnt be bothered filling out paperwork??.. bit confused, but kida happy.

Age - Gold mate :P

Gazzilla - I was pulled over on Burwood Hwy. This happened just before I went away so it took about 3 weeks for the EPA notice. If he issued you a fine check the notice, towards the bottom on the left you'll see an offense code and next to that it says "EPA" if they are going to report you. If it was OUR lovely coppa then yes, you will get one I'd say.

Nah had all kinds of drama with Pete's cat. In the end I could not get it on, borrowed another from Scott that night and the flanges were different so I had to rebook again!! Anyhoo, the tyres have been replaced and I have a roadworthy now so I'll get the canary cleared and I can drive it again. Just have to go to the EPA on the 10th now :D

    • Depending on the purpose of the car, and how much more fabbing you want to do, and what clearances you have, you could look to raise the motor, which will raise the front diff up. Likely would mean altering the chassis rails etc etc, hence the more fab work you'd need to do. However, this can create issues, not just in clearance with everything fitting under the bonnet, but you've also raised a LOT of weight up in the car, and this will DEFINITELY alter handling characteristics (But, so will how much weight you've already added to the front end). You'll also have to deal with the fact the gearbox to rear diff is now out of alignment too for the tail shaft, and alter the angle of the diff, or deal with a bit of potential vibration. Raising the motor an inch up, is effectively the same as making the whole car sit higher by not lowering it as far. So one inch higher motor, theoretically means you can drop the car an extra inch lower, and maintain the same angles in the CVs. Again, depends on the purpose of the car. If it's a just cruiser on the street car, maybe won't be an issue. If it's meant to be a time attack car, I can see you not wanting to raise the motor. This is just for you to ponder as an idea.
    • Have you not seen geospy.ai? It can now give GPS co ords to within a metre from a photo, even if it's a random photo you take inside. Supposedly at the moment only the government/law enforcement has access to that... Supposedly...
    • I've got the rear ones, they're certainly beefy. I need to take them to my driveshaft guru to check over, he's very fussy about the quality of components so I'll let you know if they are made of cheese by a blind man.   Are you in Australia? A mate just had a set of EN26 shafts made for his K20 Lotus by our fabricator which were quite cheap (compared to Driveshaft Shop) so if you can procure the CV's and draw what you need he'd make them for ~$800 for the pair.
    • Had I known the diff between R32 and R33 suspension I would have R33 suspension. That ship has sailed so I'm doing my best to replicate a drop spindle without spending $4k on a Billet one.
    • OEM suspension starts to bind as soon as the car gets away from stock height. I locked in the caster and camber before cutting off the kingpin. I then let the upright down in a natural (unbound) state before re-attaching it. Now it moves freely in bump and droop relative to the new ride height. My plan is to add GKTech arms before the car is finished so I can dial camber and caster further. It will be fine. This isn't rocket science. Caster looks good, camber is good, upper arm doesn't cause crazy gain and it is now closer to the stock angle and bump steer checks out. Send it.
