JustCar Insurance

Third Party Property Damage Insurance plus Fire and Theft

All the benefits of third party property damage insurance, plus fire and theft cover for your car for market value up to $10,000.

Thats only a $2-4k loss if my car gets stolen, better than $9k haha

but dont listen to me,

go Full insurance :)

In my opinion, you should just go with 3rd party insurance. $3k+ a year is going to be pretty bad. When/if you go 3rd party, just try not to do anything stupid on the road (yeah, I know it's easier said than done) because if you write your car off, that's it. The few seconds of that adrenalin rush is not worth it :D

Good luck with everything.

Just cars will charge you a helliva lot more to pay by the month or every 6months, can't remember exactly but i think 30% sounds right.

When i called up alianz pay by the month only increased the premium by $30

im on my P's and im insured by just cars, also with a 96 model r33 coupe.

But im on 3rd party, not sure if ur going full compehensive or just 3rd party.

i just got my car under insurance on Tuesday and im paying a little over $600 including fire and theift...

apparently every month the prices can either rise or drop, i dunno thats wat the guy i was tlkn 2 at just cars over the fone told me...

something got 2 do with statistics due to your area code..

currently insured with just cars. paying $1130 down from $1480. car is insured with aftermarket front bar, cooler, zorst and sound system to $1000.

rand young and cool and guess what, 980 full comp, plus higher value on car, from 13 to 14.7k, also down goes excess to 1600 instead of 2100.

go with young and cool. but hey im 22 now so bit diff but in the last 3 yrs have had a license suspension and 2 x 3 dermerit point fines so might be similar.

otherwise ensure the car under a parents name and then have you as a nominated driver of less than 5% of the time. will be a little less expensive but you dont build a rating.

thats my 2 cents

I'm insured with Ryno Insurance, I think it’s about 1100 or 1200pa. and 1150 excess. Had a claim a few months ago, when someone ran into my front bar, and all went through fast and smooth. Got quoted 2200 from young and cool with 1600 excess. Just car quoted 1700 with 1400 excess. I don't think Ryno do people under 20.

You can't do that can you? I thought that they just ask for the youngest driver of the car and determine the price on that driver? It doesn't matter what other drivers there are, they just charge you according to the youngest driver?

It will end up cheaper if you put it down as you use the car 5%... so the insurance company think its "mum" driving it and you use it like once a month. But i know couple of people who have had claims with this and the insurance company came around to neighbours asking who drives the car etc...

Being a young driver with an import seriously restricts the range of choices you have, i'm full comp with just car and paying a little over 4K, and has to be paid in one go, apparently theres a few smaller specialised import insurance companies out there, could be worth some investigation, i know i'll be looking when my insurance comes round again!

I didn't realise you could put down that you drive the car 5% of the time. I don't have my licence yet, but I've done a few online quotes and I haven't seen anything about only driving the car 5% of the time so I'm kinda lost. I guess I should start to worry about insurance when the time comes.

Nothing wrong with looking ahead. Best to ring the insurance company, you should get more information from them then their site.

I dont know what insurance companies do it but i know they do. Might not be 5% but may be options like drives 2 hours a month etc.

My next door neighbour had it for his 300zx and then had a claim and they asked my dad who drove it. He was smart enough to say the parents.

    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday. • BRUH, one of the biggest mistakes of my life..... and i've had plenty ;[)
    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.
