Hi there,

just wondering if i could get peoples advice, i was in a small car accident this weekend. now i was not at fault in the accident.

I think i have hurt my neck in the accident, as it feels sore and hurts when i move it. How do i go about claiming my injury? Do i go to the doctor and get a report and then submit that to the insurance company so that the person at fault can pay for any medical bills?

Thanks Michael

edit: i am with just-cars insurance if that matters

personal injury insurance is covered under your compulsory 3rd party personal injury and registration that you pay on your vehicle. You wouldnt claim it through Just Cars.

Its a claim you make through the government. im not 100% who you actually speak to, but if you call DPI on MOnday im sure they could tell you as they deal with rego and licensing etc.

first things first is to go to a doctor asap and tell them the full story and report all the aches and pains etc your feeling so its all down on record.

Im not 100% sure who you claim it through but you can get a nice amount of compensation for it.

let me know how you go michael, however i'm going to ring the DPI monday too..

i still have a sore neck from my crash, and i should really have rang the DPI earlier, i did go to the emergancy department straight away though, and let them know it was a motor vehicle accident.

money for car mods would be good. :P

Yeah, the problem with this kinda things is, it might not hurt bad now.. but down the road it might just suddenly haunt you. I don't know about the aussie system thou, but regardless, go to a hospital and get a full x-ray and mri just in case, and find someone to claim. Good luck and take care mikey. Hope u're feeling alright. Was the line involved in the accident?

P/s: Mitchy, has it landed and registered? :P

Go to the doctor as soon as you can.

They'll give you a form to sign and probably refer you to a physio, they'll give you an incident report to fill out.

You'll also need to report the accident to the police as there was someone hurt and the insurance form needs a police report number.

I was rear ended at the end of feb and my neck didn't hurt too bad, went ot the doctor anyway. Lucky I did as I had some damage to my neck and shoulders, was all covered by their rego insurance.

Yeah if you obtained an injury during the acident your supposed to ring the police within 24hrs else there's no real way of determining if the accident caused the injury.

ps. you get my reply Michael about my dash, I wasn't sure if it send or not :)

like people have said go to the cops asap. my mrs was hit by a car and busted her leg up pretty bad. go to the cops and they give u an incident report sheet to fill out.

give them all the details of what happened and who was invoved and the cops sort it out from there.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
