I ran a 13.4 on a stock 33 with exhaust....thats pretty quick....what has a stock 350 run?

id like to think that over 400 metres the line would catch up....crossing the line at 103mph....

Mate, that is an awesome time for a 33 with nothing but exhaust.

What kind of rubber were you using?

You must have got off the line quicker than Kate Moss when there's a camera in the room :-)

A stockish 350Z would struggle to run mid 13's. Maybe on cheater slicks it could run a 14 flat or a high 13. Most of the car mags have an Australian delivered Z33 running 14.3-14.5. The US ones made a bit more power, so they dipped lower into the 14s.

I've G-Tech timed myself (on a private road, of course) at 13.8, but my car's got most of the pipework replaced as well as a few other bits and pieces. I think that, with a better driver and tyres that haven't been ruined by countless skidpan events, it might run a 13.5 but I doubt I personally will be achieving that in the near future.

It should. My trap speed with just a catback and completely f**ked RT215s was 100mph. So against a stocker you should reel a stock Z in.

You cant compare the maunfacture spec tho....i find that they are way off....you never really see them below 14 seconds...

I was surprised with the 300C it ran a 13.5 stock....thought that massive thing would be over 14.....or more surprising a jeep, not sure what it was, but it ran a 13.2, thats crazy speed...

Sorry to necro this post I can't help but reply, I have a stock auto R33 GTST Sedan... Just beat a 350Z... They do have you from 0-100 but after that, wooshhh the R33 is off. This is from a rolling start though, 40km/hr, I hit 180km/hr and was half a car ahead and still gaining.

Tried telling my mate this.

He did not agree.

ive got 3inch straight through, pod , splitfires & installing boost controller and FMIC next friday and turning it up to 10psi.Running ku31's all round with pedders xa coils. So just basic mods... Mate has a stock 350 ready to race.

Guess I'l have to video it and we'll see..

You will destroy the 350Z, the last few 350's i raced at WSID were 1/10th slower than me. The only one that beat me was a newer model that out launched me and did a 14.2-14.3 sec pass with identical MPH to me. PS this is in a NON TURBO 300zx.

FYI the fastest "stock" 350z time, Stock as in right down to the tyre, was a 2007 car. Thats a HR motor.

13.150 @ 107.62mph

2.027 60ft.

something to think about...

There's a 10MPH variance between cars there, never seen a 350Z do anywhere near those times bog stock or trap that sort of mph.

Its all been verified as the site says. There is no argument to be had.

13.65 @103.5

Thats an ADM 2009 model. With a slip.

Not arguing, all i'm saying is i have never seen one go that quick or trap that speed. Just trying to figure out why there is 10MPH variance between bone standard cars. Only things i can think of are large altitude differences and the fact that a few of the US tracks aren't exactly "flat" (read: downhill).

    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
