I think they look pretty good. Finally Australia is producing cars that don't simply look like blobs with too much plastic, and yes I did see the plastic around the headlights.

If I were to be given one of these cars or something with the same power from Germany, I would definitely go for the German product however if I was buying it I would most likely be paying 2 to 3 times as much.

Pretty good value for money I say.

Looks good, I like it.. Always liked the now older style F6. The enw tornado would be awesome.. factory 300KW ute with turbo goodness! Someone mentioend power to wieght, that GTP would have a hell of a lot of torque on it. never driven an aussie muscle car but u'd expect if they r selling them overseas, america and the UK, where 'real' muscle cars r really built then they must be pretty decent. Actuall sucks to hear about the commodore GTS-R.. Taken a great name code from the HR31 and made it into a f**kin banana! Would be interesting to see the new one tho and read about it. U know its going to be a good car. maybe the current F6's will come down in price from over 50k second hand.

Throw some boost into the typhoon. :)

Apparently i heard those XR6Turbos are only running on 4 psi! And they have a Garrett GT30 turbo or something like that? Not quite sure on that but i reckon if they run them on 14psi boost, lightly modded GTSTs will not be a match for them. :P

You sure heard some wild rumours. Also Lightly modded GTST's are already being thrashed off the line by lightly modded XR6T's. Driven a liughtly modded F6 and loved it. Still nothing compared to my GTR :)

Just a quick note on the subheading of this thread...

HSV finally has some competition from the Blue Oval

The turbo six-pots have had it all over the GTS, R8 etc for a very long time, champ.

man even lightly modded gtst's wont have shit on a stocko F6... until you start changing turbos of course

the xr6t currently run 6psi. the new f6 are going to be running about 11psi. the current f6 run about 9.5psi.

my brother in law has a ba xr6t. his made 248hp (185kw) at the wheels (100% stock). he has put a flash tune in (just an of the shelf one, not tuned specifically for his car.... yet) and pumped it up to 12psi and got 299.3hp (223kw). that is with standard exhaust, standard airbox and filter, and standard intercooler. he going to get a new airbox, intercooler and injectors and get the tune done for his car.

also the sound of the big six hitting the traction control is awesome.

a mate of mine has a xr6t. he has spent a fair bit of money on it (it developed an electrical problem when number 1 piston came out and destroyed the alternator). he had a full forge rebuild, c4 gearbox, and now he needs the diff done. on a light tune on the stock turbo at 18psi he made about 410hp (305kw).

as for the hsv gts-r i didn't think holden had decided if it was actually going to make it yet. and it takes them 7.0L to get 365kw. they have to use big cubes to get the power. atleast ford is getting 320kw out of only a 5.4L

too big, too heavy, and they use too much fuel...

i wouldnt buy one when i know that a japanese turbo car can out handle, out brake, and out accelerate for less money

unless you are talking a gtr or a fairly modded gtst they won't out accelerate a turbo xr. if you honestly think that you need to spend more time at the drag strip.

and as for handling, have you driven one? if not, then what are you basing it off? or have you driven an early e series falcon and are basing it off that? i know round where i live, where the roads are crap and rough, they would out handle a skyline cause they soak up the bumps beter.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
