Yeah the new WRX looks terrible. But I still say the new STi has potential.

If the STI looked like that pic put me down for one BUT i think it will look more like the

stupid smiling grill thing like the Ring pic posted earlier.

Going by the pics the EVO wins hands down

Looks like i'm keeping the classic forever

On the earlier STI i have seen either foggies or the covers but then i think it became a STI thing to just have the covers plus its another spot to put some STI stickers.

BTW its Gaz not Alycia ireally should get my own membership

I saw it in Japan in january. Took these snaps below. It looks pretty cool. A little to 'new-age' and 'edgey' for me. but hey, they have always been a bit of a homo's car....

they even had a mini-me version

hmmmm honestly i doubt that will be the production STi... its waaaay too different from the actual WRX which means thats obviously the WRC car.

much like the WRC version of the ugliest ever, the bugeye, it actually looks half decent.

yeah, I think the pics I took were of the concept version. production version probably is toned down a bit and has an uglier girl standing next to it. or even worse, no girl at all. :P

That pic has being doing the round on the internerd for the last few years. There is no way in hell that Suabru will produce somthing even close to that very bad photochop.

Subaru have recently made a deal with Daewoo and Hyundai. Suabru will be borrowing the ugly stick from those 2 companys and using it on all of there new cars.... Here's just a peak at what Subaru have been making recently...

There's alot of subaru people hoping then new STi will be better looking than the newly released WRX, but really it's hard to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.

Oh and the new WRX.... with a Mazda3 over the top....

I think the X looks great and will be very keen to have a go when they come out.

But have been thinking I'd like to take a look at something a bit different...

3.0L

6-cyl

twin turbo

RWD

and German

The BMW 135i Coupe - http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/bmw_135i.asp

Something about them is pretty cool - I always loved 2002s, and this looks like a grown up version.

BUT... we'll see. Evo X still top of the list for mine, and we'll have the E90 M3 at work soon - so I can always play with that :stupid:

my old man restored a 2002 tii.. then sold it :stupid:

it was red with a creme leather interior. SO nice....

I was going to wait and buy a X...but local dealer could not comment on whether available in auto. So armed with cash from selling my R34 GTR...i was purchased a V35 which i soon to convert with GTR motor and AWD using V35 gearbox. Looks and performance of latest Nismo Nissan with comfort and performance of auto. Much better then Mitsubishi.

    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
