Recommended Posts

Hey dewds, i have an account here because i was looking at buying a skyline years ago

I got caught in your cruise on my way home, on the way back on mitchel there was SO MANY unmarked cops doing about 140km/h weaving through traffic with no lights, were they after you guys? I was speeding and they ignored me >D

Any way I was the blue honda prelude "the lude" :P there were some really nice cars there...maybe if you allow other types of cars i might tag along some meet.

It was an "open cruise", which means anyone is welcome, aslong as they follow our Cruise Rules

Hey Paul thanks for organising a great cruise, a few very silly boys, but only a few. Cops were ok, but a bit dumb closing the car park.... "Ok sarge we got 'em rounded up".... "You cannot escape come out with your hands up"..... haha, I think they been watching too much TV. Very foggy, and a little too late for us oldies to go on to Midland. Great fun all the same. Man I couldn't beleive how good the ATTESA is in that weather, nor could a couple of 'lines.

Guess we'd better think of joining now!

I meant to introduce myself to a few guys and never really got time at the meets, so much going on.

Cheers John

Was a great cruise!

I'm glad the rain stopped.. shame it was still a bit wet and slippery though. Nice meeting a few new people! Bad luck to those who had an accident and got in trouble from the coppers, I'm kinda glad I went home after Mindarie or whatever it was lol (im such a SoR person)

Hey All,

Thanks again to the people who organized the cruise.

Was my first Skyline Cruise, been on lots of other cruises and this was very well behaved, not many idiots besides the people in the commodores.

I left after the 3rd meet point, so did not make it to Midland, I left before the cops started blocking off the entry/exit however, I did see them attend the randoms fighting at the service station near by though haha

Alot of nice cars, they have given me lots of ideas of rims ,etc to have done to my car.

One of the highlights was the Fog , that was awesome, was so EERIE (like someone else has said)

Again, thanks all... Bring on a nice clear day cruise...

I was crying cos you wouldnt stop "accidentally" touching my leg :D

I have only got few here in west perth, didn't make it further, btw, I was the one driving that shame Tiida with a silly G7 DC running around taking photos....lol

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
