W427.

It had a nice meaty resonating note to it, but I'm still trying to fathom how anyone could part with $150k of their hard-earned on a Commodore.

That's AMG C63 territory. Heck, I probably live on Weeties for 6 months and put the extra $ into a GTR.

i saw the Red one with W427 as plates at springvale junction once, after reading about it in Wheels mag during the day, to see if fly past was awesome :P and yeah they sound sweet

Saw three ferraris on wellington road, they were all 1min apart from each other. Driving away from Lysterfield. I wonder if they knew each other? Was random to spot three of them on the same stretch of road at same time haha

A red ferrari 430 scuderia, a red california and a red f430 i think.

Ferrari overload haha

had to laugh, was walking up to get some lunch yesterday and there was a Aston V8 Vantage sitting there with a young kid going nuts over it... he was lining it up to take a photo on his phone when a F430 drove past behind it... he didn't know where to look or what to take a photo of... made me chuckle, I hope he got them both in the same shot

I agree. But I guess for die-hard aussie V8 fans who won't consider anything else that's the pinnacle of their life's goals :P

Then again, people could say the same for parting almost 300k for a Nissan (spec V)

this had so much road presence.

such a pretty car in the flesh, and they sound fantastic!

What kind of TVR is that?

Went down to mornington with my girlfriend yesterday and like OMG there were soo many amazing cars

i was stood literally drooling over a Brabus AMG C63 and then the owner got in it, and let loose on the engine OMG OMG OMG OMG i almost blew in my pants then and there.

then about 10mins later a Ferrari 599GTB went screaming past, in what seemed to be 1st gear doing about 50 and deafening us all.

then while walking around spotted a Bentley W12 roadster and a SLK 63 AMG :D

i swear, people and their money.. i love how the brabus have the black Merc badges on them, and they look and sound TOUGH!

but without a doubt, the brabus made my day, i have only ever seen 2 in Australia that was my 2nd one!

wish i took some pics, but only had my iphone and yeah.. my girlfriend was kinda getting pissed that i was more interested in the cars lol!

Yeah, Mornington Peninsula locales like Sorrento/Portsea are where all the holiday homes of the rich & famous are. I was overdosing on European super-exotica down there last Xmas. When I came back to Melb and saw a Ferrari 360, I was like "meh".

    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
    • Hi Everyone I am from West Pennant Hills in NSW. Been too busy until recently to attend to my RB25DET Series 2 engine until recently. I am planning to stick it into the S15 shell at this stage, unless a nice SR20DET turns up... For now, i am going to try and get the RB25 running and working well then decide what gearbox to use. My preference is to retain the SR20DET  6 speed gearbox and tail shaft to retain as much and least modifications as i can avoid. I am an old guy and won't be doing any heavy drifting so i don't need a bullet proof gearbox Does anyone have experience with starting the RB on a stand? I got everything setup as much as I can with the info i can find... endless searching and videos on Youtube I would be great to get some pointers Cheers Songo
    • Hey all, Recently have had my s1 r33 gtr serviced and noticed my coolant reservoir was topped up to the max line. Took the car out for 1 yesterday and noticed today the reservoir is completely empty.  Any ideas? Radiator is full
