I drove my friend's newly acquired Euro, clean, quiet, comfortable but not overly luxurious. I loved the light up dash. On the road, its very smooth and comfy, but the front wheel drive REALLY REALLY gets to me, the steering wheel feels like its fighting you all the time. All in all, its just a A-B car, it has no character, all it is is a very comfy transporter, not really exciting at all, but you'd expect that from a car like that anyway. At the endo fo the trip, I was glad to be back in my skyline, every bump and engine noise made me smile.

Should I buy a pencil or a can of spray paint..... a jack russel or a great dane X rotty.....seriously, on a skyline forum.

First of all, I posted this thread because

1. Not everyone has a skyline on this forum......

2. I've checked out Ozhonda forums and all they do is talk all good things about the Euros....

2. I'm asking whether ppl have been in or driven a Euro before what they think of it (good things, negative things...anything really!!)

3. If they had to pick between the 2.

Only reason I'm asking between the 2 cars is

1. I will be spending around $25-$30 on either cars.

2. Wouldn't mind a luxury family car or a performance car in the future.

But any feedback on the Euros would be nice.

So please dont tell me that I dont know what is the difference between both cars, I know...

Hhhhmmm Evo would be nice, but $50k out of my budget.

Oh, atm I'm getting married next yr. Not planning to have kids for a while (while as in 5-6yrs), would be driving the future car around 2-3 times a day. So i think both cars would suit me. Now knowing that the Accord is front wheel drive kinda is putting me off. .

lingeringsoul was your friends euro a manual or auto?

when i was at tafe i had a tt supra. f**k the costs the fun always out weighs the down sides to being broke lol

btw go the gtr for sure. i hate hondas gtr ftw

Yeah...good old times lol.

I know that the GTR would waste alot of fuel and the Honda parts are damn expensive...but both cars would need alot of love put into it....both my fiance and myself will treat this as our child

Firstly, if you're enquiring about a Honda - shouldn't this thread be posted on OzHonda.com ??

Secondly, if you see yourself in a 4 cyclinder NA car that is boxy and looks like a half-cut carton can - go get one... as for us, we love our Skylines. Period.

World of difference there. I'm currently driving a Euro and for what it serves, I love it. Simple auto transmission, gets me from here to there and no hassles from the car or from people. I don't miss fnf hero's looking to gain street cred at the traffic lights, falcodores tailgating and the cold glare from the boys in blue. The Euro is alright on the road but will never see the race track. I'm still not use to the nose pitching so much under braking but it's not as much as other cars in this class. Running costs on the euro is much cheaper naturally.

If I were to get a GTR again it would be for the sole purpose of tarmac rally or club racing. If you've still got the car mod bug then get the GTR. I don't see the point in modifying a euro, it was never intended to go at speeds. If you want a balanced and stiff chassis then the GTR of course.

I dont want to register to ozhonda just to ask 1 question that I might be thinking of buying the car. And as for skylines, I do love em as well. but I also love Supras, NSX, WRXs and of course :P The GTRs

Msg sent!

we have both

GTR weekends

Euro everywhere else.

Euro is awesome - comfortable, quiet, heated seats (sweet). Only thing is i think it is over damped and a little crashy. It does what it is supposed to do - be a comfortable, easy to drive auto with enough power and steers well enough such that you don't try and drive it into a ditch. Plenty of space (rear seats could be a bit roomier), big boot, split fold seats.

A little heavy on petrol on city cycle, but when we went 4-up down the beach we got almost 700kms to a tank - think it was around 6.8L/100kms... pretty impressive for a 2.4 @ 110 most of the way. The GTR does a nice 16L/100kms.

All depends on what you want to do with the car.

Hope that helps :(

Thanks for the input guys! I have thought about getting a Audi, but reviews were pretty standard for A4s that I've heard about the car. Bus or jetfighter...hmmm..no! :P

Getting a supra? hmm,, I've got a cressida given to me as a wedding gift and it has a 3ltre supra engine in it :PBJ:

And I dont think I can keep both a GTR and GTST as I got the cressida as a wedding gift and it'll be insulting to sell it lol. I'm gonna either keep the GTST or sell it to buy my new car :nyaanyaa: .....unless I crash the cressida and claim the insurance off it :(

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
