Hi, it is a slow process but it looks like it going to cost me about $12,000+ for this motor rebuild + extras.

I had a look at the no.1 piston when they got the motor apart and had cracked ring landing. Scored the bore, hopefully machinable to 20 thou, cause from old motor, or more my over boosting it without tunning. (My bad). Either way it was needing a rebuild in time.

I found I had a nismo single spring button clutch in the car, so just going to reco that. - $800+

The type of pistons that im going to use are called airies/earies something like that. (Forged Pistons)

The turbos that I am looking at are 2830 -5 twins. Can anyone tell me more about them?

The P.F.C I was thinking of using was a WOLF. Anyone using one?

if you search the forced induction section lots of this has been covered

imo the 2860 -5 are great turbos , good mixture of power and response . possibly a little small to take advantage of a full rebuilt but its there for later if you need more

forget the wolf and get a power fc djetro for cheaper and easier to install and tune

Suppose to be capable of over 25 PSI.

I'll do a search on power fc djetro, see what I can find.

Thankyou.

WHITEBEAST

f**k power fc there shit imo

get a wolf v500 do a search on that and u will c how much better they are than d-jetro.

heaps of my mates use wolfs either v4 or v500 there the shit i got one sitting in my room for when i do my turbo upgrade there awesome definately worth the extra cashola

tuning get it done at rank rotary in melbourne dude

lol and how is a powerfc shit?

Sequential Injection, 6 coil drivers, closed loop, factory like drivability/coldstart etc, KNOCK DISPLAY.

Can't go past the PFC for a streeter that may from time to time see inconsistent fuel and thousands of km's *see knock display*.

i dont like the power fc thats my personal opinion of them. i have always been around the wolfs and my mates all use them and i will also be installing mine in due time. (probz closer to when i get my licence back) there alot more expensive but they are the shit and have been compared to motec.

thats my 2c

Opinions mean shit.

Technical specs are everything.

The PowerFC's are up there with the best with regards to basic *non wank wank* specs.

Consider that the Wolf3d isn't all that more expensive when you factor in a decent EBC (of which the wolf comes with standard).

But regardless; that most definitely doesn't make the powerfc *shit*.

The powerfc is a barebones ecu with excellent specs that does an awesome job for a sub 1k price tag.

ignorance is bliss :worship:

+1 for the power FC djetro, if it is a MAP based setup that you want.. if you were willing to keep the afm's then these days i would recomend a proper chip and retune of the stock ecu, cheaper and has a few features over the power fc such as a knock vs ignition retard table, for those times when you get a dose of dodgy fuel and don't notice the knock display ;)

i think you've heard a lot from your mates that you don't really know jack

like "airies/earies" pistons, you got the turbos wrong "2830" then u call WOLF a type of pfc

;)

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
