After having read through the Forums and alot of people have recommended HILLS for doin work on their skylines , i rang them up after some pricing on a few mods that im looking at doin.

I was wondering any one has done any of these mods and how much they paid.

Parts for R33 GTS-T

Front Mount Intercooler Fitted = $2200

Dump Pipe = $350

HI FLOW CAT (the best they got) = $450

Be interesting to compare some prices and see what the cheapest place to get these common mods done, maybe we can have a INTERCOOLER FITTING day or something and get a discount?

I will continue to shop around, should i have metioned to Hills that I was recommended from Skylines Australia?

Refer to my group buy.

Stainless Dump Pipe, Front Pipe and High Flow cat for around the same price as you have been quoted from dump and cat ONLY.

Hi Tech will make them in stainless also.

Check the thread in general discussion.

The FMIC kits are good value. They use Micks Metalcraft intercoolers, Micks charge around $2500 fitted themselves so you are on a winner. I use the Micks custom jobbie on my car.... very nice setup

spiderman.. think of it from a shops perspective..

everyone who has been to hills knows how busy mark is.. he spends half his day answering ppl who keep ringing for prices just out of interest etc.. alot of... what if what if's..

im sure if u go there.. and show that ure keen in getting the work done and ure not just all talk like 90% of most ppl out there.. ure prices will get better for you.. mark works on a lot of our cars and gives good prices to ppl who are good regular customers.. telling him ure from the forums wont hurt either..

there are alot of places who might be able to do a bit cheaper.. but alot of us have found out.. that extra 50 bux here or there saves u so much hassle.. im sure he wont give u his best price over the phone as u will jsut go around and ring another shop who will undercut him by a certain amount..

just some things for u to consider...

btw i am in no way sponsored by mark or anything.. he has just helped me out when ive really needed where alot of workshops turned me away.. and he has also done good by alot of ppl i know

Spiderman,

If you tell mark you are from Skylines Australia and that Christian recommended Hills, he should look after you.

But keep in mind, he is VERY busy and some times he can't get things done as quick as he would like to.

Thanks Prank , I will let him know, if he's busy then he must be good at what he does :)

Urmine , yeah i bought the car of Air the car is dream come true :) its running great just starting to think of the next thing to do intercooler and dump pipe etc.....

I feel the Need , The need for speed :)

I've got to say Hills is a great workshop... just look at the cars in there and how many forum members have recommended Hills.

Might take alittle longer as Hills is VERY busy, but in the end a great job is done and for a great price too.

Mark really looks after you and makes sure you're happy with the finished job.

I'd recommend going to him any day!

can't you just get a cover note? you can do it over the phone right now if need be and you don't have to take up the policy if you don't pay within like 2 weeks or something.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
