and where would one get this special blade and perhaps a part number

thanks

I normally renew the front pair, and cut down one of the old ones to use on the back; as Aaron says, pre bend it to suit the curve.

Plastic backed blades are shit; not flexible enough.

I only use the rubber ones with two stainless strips in them; over the counter at Repco is the only place I can find them anymore...

as Dale said. no special part, just cut it down to size.

i use the teflon stuff. had it for about a year now and it still works as if they were brand new!

Is the rear qtr panel on the M35 replacable? Or is it part of the whole body?

My wife cleaned out a brick fence while backing my car out...

Just wondering of the driver side rear qtr panel is replaceable.

Cheers...

EDIT: I think this is it?

fuuuuccck man.. even your light was gone.

i think they angle grind a section out if it cant be bog fixed. and weld a replacement and fix n paint.

Depending in the scale of the damage. You might be up for a new rear quarter.

Not a bolt on part; extends up to the roof at the C pillar, and all the way forward to the rear door...

Taken a pic?

yup, cut the spot welds and replace the panel.

if you were in sydney i can supply a 2nd hand rear quarter if you need it. but that will be gone pretty soon

As in someone is buying it?

I'm gonna just go thru insurance anyway...but want to see if they can just pay me the $$$ instead of having them repair it seeing its just panel damage. I know RACV allows this...

then I'll just hit up some cheap 2nd hand parts (already have tail light landed for $150) and get a decent import repairer to fit and fix it all.

You'd think choosing an oil wouldn't be so difficult, however it seems that choice of oil has the possibly broadest range of opinions of all.

so Iamhe, after 5 years of trying different oils have you settled on one or still are you still experimenting?

There are still a couple I'd like to try out (the new Royal Purple HPS sounds interesting and my curiosity regarding the NEO oil can only lead to one result  ), but since I have over 220,000kms on my car I will be sticking with what I have found to "feel" the best - Motul 300v Chrono (10w40) with either HKS, Power Enterprise or Greddy magnetic oil filter with 10,000km changes.

As a side note, I am only going back to Motul because GW Sougi S6000 is discontinued.

Didn't I hear GW are doing a Sougi replacement? I'm pretty curious about NEO and ULX-110, heard great things about the ULX, but it's not fully synthetic.

Bad luck on the car Ironpaw... pics? Is it bad?

How bad?

I damaged mine early this year... made be sick to my stomach, but it was repaired and not replaced.

Probably a writeoff if it had to be replaced :P

Doesn't look like much in this pic, but the rear quarter was split right through leaving a hole roughly 20x5mm.

OUCH

I don't think mine is that bad...damage is superficial mostly and the dent is mainly near the fuel cap area...

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
