enough with the pushrods, i know its a bit of a dinosour but it will rev, dont worry about that.

as for the cambelt, i reckon you could probably get a Jessel set up, i know they do one for earlier chevs and fords. when its making 800hp ill get one for u jase.

Removed 4 piston & rod assys and took them to machine shop where we milled 6thou of the big end face to get the required clearance. took longer to remove them and re-fit them than it did to machine them. Anyway all done and back together.

Fabricated a baffle for the sump, very basic, just folded a piece of sheet metal up, cut some reliefs and welded it to the standard internal sump baffle. this was done to limit oil surge in sump which Ls1 engines were renound for. Re-fit rear oil seal plate and seal, and sump. also fit balancer and water pump today as well as a few sensors and engine mount brackets. Just the heads and manifolds and it will be ready to fit.

Front screen and rear quarter windows were also fitted today.

Not RB's!

i heard we are all pitting together, ill be your pit bitch. it will go 9.0s if you let me neer the NOS bottle.

i am...just fitted new ECU...diff tomm...dogbox friday....tune saturday....9.60's sunday :D

so the gtr had the wiper then.......he will just have to chase up a gtst rear screen.

wrong thread?

but yeah should be there sunday.

Ill give you a buzz or pop in if I head up

BTW - You can just put a grommit in the hole. Bit sturdier than a sticker and it's what we did on another GTR

unfortunately no, unless you use a bellhousing that will accept starter on the other side, would also have to modify block as starter mounts on it. i have heard that you can get a kit, but am not 100% sure. might be able to find answers on ls1.com

Stu,

I have spoken to a few people (LS1 R33 and an LS1 R34) and both of them were able to retain the power steering.

Is the R32 GTSt engine bay narrower than the later models? Another option I have heard is to use the steering rack/front bits from a GTS4 or a GTR as they supposedly allow for more room to clear the front drive shafts/sump/diff/etc.

Both the above cars used Holden mounts modified to suit, rather than the Nissan mounts you optioned for. Might affect clearance a bit?

Hope that helps keep us posted.

Cheers

Eug

yeh mate, it is possibly the case that the r32 is tighter, but in my case i like the manual steer feel alot better and removing the rack, pump & lines save me some weight.

thanks buddy, if only i could get my phone to talk to my computer.

the first pic shows one of the 4 conrods having the big end face milled. took 6thou off, 40thou=1mm.

second pic shows underside of sump baffle with fabricated baffle attached. this sits infront of oil pickup.

third pic shows baffle in place. hole is where pickup sits through.

fourth pic shows underside of engine with windage tray fitted.

also fitted water pump, alternator today as to set up the drive-belt which had to be modified as there is no power steer pump. just swapped an idler pulley and added a second one and a shorter belt. stinging for cylinder heads now.

Here's some more pics from Stuart's car. He can explain what they all do.

Hi!

I just started on my R32 with LS3, T56 project, and was wondering what you used for a shaft between the transmission and rear differential, and where I can get one of these shafts?

Nice build. Would love to see some pictures and videos when your finished.

It's a custom job with the appropriate yokes at each end. Are you really using a 6.2L LS3?

tailshaft was a custom unit. GTR rear uni with front yoke to suit tremec with f100 uni. this cost around $800.

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
