great work...were you not the same guy i was chatting to in the staging lanes?? thats why i called out to you...and yes...i was pretty stoked.

That was me yeah when i spoke to you you told me you were hoping for a 9 second pass, you need to give me some launch and gear change pointers so i can get my 10 :) , i ended up running a PB of 11.093 with it missfiring in third and 4th, went over line at 126.?? mph.

your car was crazy quick.

Hi congrats on that blistering quick time considering the problems you had on the night, i am modifying my R32GTR extensively as of late and would like to know if you dont mind what sort of power or torque are you making to achieve that time please.

This will give me a realistic understanding of what sort of power is required to obtain certain time figures there abouts.

Good luck i also are retaining the low mounts good tuning and right mods with this set up can make fantastic times for sure.

Cheers,

Dave.

450-500 kw and 5000rpm of peak torque should see you in the ballpark.

good luck with your build.

not too bad at all paul :P

i bet the wait from ur last outing was really starting to get to you! haha

mega congrats to u and all involved :P, u should come up to qld with mr ricer early next year :D

Fantastic effort & by the sounds of things long overdue - you must delighted mate & great reward for all your effort :P

Time for the RH9 stickers to be applied :D

Well done guys, gone are the days when you had to absolutaly ring its neck for a 10.3, now it runs close to that on a back off. It is well deserved, all your patience and effort have payed off. up 4 another Queensland trip?

PS. Hope is all well with your new addition also.

Car has been off the road for the last 18 months while parts were bought...ideas were thrown around...and the engine was assembled...so yes it has been a while...but worth waiting for.

I didn't set myself the goal of running nine's on low mounts because it was easy...i did it because it was hard. The harder a goal is to achieve, the larger the reward and satisfaction is when its obtained.

And i did it just the way i wanted to...No slicks...No NOS...No dog box...No big $$ engine management.

The RH9 stickers were applied in the pits on Wednesday night before we loaded the car to go home.

well done mate on your 9 sec pass.

put some more boost on board and im sure you will run 9.2 s and run with theo....

cheers. mark

I can't think of a worse fate, Mark!!

Way to go, Pauly! Low mounts, 9's and actually finishing a pass/meeting. So few GTR's that do that these days!

NICE!

At least when my car has problems i can actually get in and fix it and get back on the track.

Hey remember the time i actually replaced a smashed gearset in a gearbox out behind the pits just so i could keep competing...now thats commitment....or is it MADNESS!!

At least i dont smash holes in my engine, have a massive tanty dummy spit and go home looking like an absolute tool.

That effort at Powercruise 3 was outstanding. Big shout out to Macca from Steve's Speed Shop for kickin in as well!!

Your last statement is spoken like someone who knows better than to get involved with tools.

Dirt Garage for the win!

I just understand that the sport is so much bigger than me...others think they are bigger than the sport! If your not enjoying your racing its time to look at doing something else...at the moment im having a blast!

And oh yes ill never forget how Macca spent some quality time with me under "twoogle's" belly that day. The list of people who have been willing to give their time and expertise to help us out since we started racing is quite extensive and we thank all of you for the effort you have made for us.

Not bad Paul although you still haven't beaten my mile an hour 139.67mph. Keep trying. You front diff boys grabbing the road and throwing it behind.

It seems that less really is more in this situation, John. :w00t:

to run "only" 10.7 with that MPH is nothing to brag about. :D

that was my first run with a lowly 25psi. Got quite a bit left up my sleeve...ill run a whole second quicker than you with your MPH.... hahaha!!

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
