if you bought the engine crated from nissan i would imagine it would have its own warranty...i think thats what a20089 was getting at...
Exactly

well call Japan after the car goes on sale and let us all know how you get on sourcing an engine :D

Putting aside the fact that EVERY single one is built by hand, and the fact that each one is built to go into an R35 GTR, which there is a backlog for... do you seriously see them being made available to the public in the next year? I'm guessing you'll be able to buy the block if you're a reputable tuning shop or Nissan affiliate, but other than that your chances are slim to none.

Now combine that with the fact that atm outside of nissan and a select handful of japanese tuning shops, no one in the world knows how to build one of these engines or tune them... and you'll start realising how much of a pipe dream it is.

Great idea in concept, but not practical. I dunno why you'd wanna burden such a state of the art engine with an old R32... for starters where would you mount the gearbox?

do you really think nissan would cover the engine for warranty if you installed it into a car it was not designed for?

i doubt it... you'd need a qualified mechanic to install it into a r35 for the warranty to be covered.

lol

but ull need to be a uptodate qualified nissan mech and installed on nissan premises

I'm not sure the OP really wanted to buy one before they are even released in Australia.....or soon afterwards.

I don't quite understand the negativity, the concept is fine. Obviously a mechanic would likely install the engine anyway.

Whether the engine fits and when you can actually purchase the engine are open for debate, NOT ridicule.

If people can fit V8's into their GTR's, then anything is possible.

for starters where would you mount the gearbox?

what i was thinking exactly... i think the whole approach nissan was trying to get at is porka/ferrari type exclusitivity.

you don't buy these cars to have them cut up and transplanted like regular imports, they ARE the package from factory. sure minor parts here and there, most probably by nismo and most probably an arm and a leg.

The concept isn't fine, it's not practical, logical, ethical, economical and a whole lot of other words ending in 'cal'. Point being read the quote in my signature...

Forget the GTR engine, I'd like to see the 7.0 V8 from the Z06 running a twin turbo or big single setup in a r32-r34 GT-R.

If it could be adapted to the ATESSA-ETS system, that would be a killer combination!

front diff and driveshaft through the sump would be something of a nightmare (i.e- next to impossible)

unless you wanted to by the whole powertrain / drivetrain and suspension, then an engine transplant may not be feasable, although a neat idea.

what you could do is replace the engine, gearbox and other drive components of 'your' car with those of the gtr and shorten the propshafts and 4wd transfer shaft lengths to match your wheelbase.

although it does make things difficult! with the new rear mounted gearbox.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
